The Fame is very retro and funky, disco - Mayhem too, only in a more serious and darker way and they are very different lyrically. They are like twins in light and dark. The Fame has just the stronger singles, but Mayhem has the stronger tracks and overall production. But I like the puns/word plays (don't know if these are the right words in english) of the The Fame more. For now i go with Mayhem, because i heard The Fame so much. It sounds organic, alive. Now the only question is who you feel more attracted to.
