i hope all you f4gs, who talk about her like everyone else choke on a d!ck.

ESPECIALLY YOU F******* FREAK

the concept of people fundamentally airing their concern about Ariana's safety, since she is alarmingly underweight, that even if she gets better she will still at health risk for the damages she had done to her own body, being called out as freak

I really don't feel that this is the case here. Canceling concerts, and dropping out a West End show don't benefit from this. I can't imagine even her team would be like "it's okay if those things suffer, as long as the album does well."

If I had to draw a pop culture parallel, this has eerily reminded me of when Michael Jackson was getting ready for his This is It residency (which was also going to take place at the O2), which is worrisome.

As an artist who has always shaped her material/product & built her celebrity around her "private" personal life & her relationship with the public (like a lot of artists tbf), I think she has more to prop up than the one new album. Imo, cancelling events rn actually does benefit her by keeping her in the public conversation, which she will be able to profit off of, long-term.

I know I sound callous, & maybe you're right, maybe I'm being too cynical in my observations. I have no ill will for her. But she has never been in such a unique position to hurt/impact so many people, & instead of directly addressing any of the discourse (as of this writing), she has been tip-toeing around it & now (in her video) openly winking at it... for (again, my opinion) her own gain.

I know she's sick. But an abundance of sympathy isn't coming easily to me rn

I get her. The world talks about nothing but her weight and assuming things, whether wrong or right, it must be so hard on her giving a show in front of tens of thousands of people every night.

This whole situation is feeling very Britney 2007.

I think everyone, including her fans are concerned, and rightfully so.

However, the bullying and blaming I’ve seen is horrendous. Yes she is an influential public figure, but this is someone’s health.

Everyone preaches about mental health awareness until those same illnesses are deemed ‘too uncomfortable’ for the public, then it does become genuine bullying.

I’ve seen a lot of ‘concern’ masked as an excuse to attack someone, and heavy discourse on how she’s a villain for ‘influencing’ young girls. It’s a highly triggering situation for many, but when is someone’s mental illness a moral failing?

I think most users here are genuinely concerned, which is normal. But on other online spaces the bullying has gotten out of hand

People have gotten too comfortable speaking on behalf of artists who they know nothing about. No one but herself and her support system can do anything about it, yet everyone wants a say on it.

As a man with a 1,70cm height and 50kg who's never ever able to gain weight, I find it funny people going "she's sick FOR SURE", I am sick too just by my look then :saladga: I eat 6 times a day, lunch and dinner are a MOUNTAIN of food and my arms look just like hers. One time an old woman stopped me at the bus stop and asked if I was sick, needless to say I was very offended. Y'all need to chill the f*ck out.

Reading this thread is triggering an anger I didn't know I had. I eat healthy food, I eat junky food, I eat plenty of everything. And these days I ran 5km and went from 50kg to 48kg in ONE RUN. Some people are just like that, any aerobic exercise will suck the meat on our bones in a snap. Ariana already said that when she was weighting more she was drinking lots of alcohol and eating unhealthy, and an ectomorph body type who is suddenly eating healthy foods like grains, salads, carbs and lean protein, even if plenty, will lose weight naturally, doesn't mean that person is purposefully fasting, going hungry or putting their fingers in their throat. Different, out of the curve, bodies that function in a weird way exist and y'all need to get a grip. For all of my life I have wanted to be beefy and couldn't, reading these "concerns" make me wanna throw my phone at the wall.

She just dropped out of Sunday in the park.

She was rumored to be dropping out for months. The theatre didn’t know how to handle ticketing, as thousands of fans would be trying to buy tickets at once and the security required for Ariana. the bosses were reportedly looking for a replacement around June.

Sounds like a softened/curated annoucement of retirement..

I thought about Rihanna and Adele the other day. They were so massive forces in music and vanished, while Gaga couldn't compete with either of them in terms of singles/albums. Now they are gone from music while Gaga is still active and successful.

Maybe Ariana will be the next one to willingly retire instead of being forced into the Khia asylum like Katy. :cheeky:

Talk about Rihanna, Adele just released an album 3.5 years ago and finished her 2 years long residency 2 years ago and she even managed to make a mini residency in Europe in the middle of it, she's anything but retired. She's more likely to release another album before the decade ends, she also said she wants to plan a world tour for her next album.

I feel bad for her. I’m sure Gaga will reach out to her in private.

if there’s anything I’ve learned about Gen Z though it’s that they would’ve k*lled themselves if they were around when we had heroin chic.

Maybe I’m just too millennial but she looks… fine to me? Sure maybe a tad underweight but not remotely as bad as people are making out. She just gives off someone who’s used weight loss drugs for too long. The bobble head and loss of breast tissue is kinda a give away.

The thing about those drugs is when you stop taking them you gain all the weight back. Hence why celebs abuse it and they just lose more and more.

Like I said I’m from the era of heroin chic where all the models and celebs were worse than this. She’s just overdoing things like Ozempic because you can tell by her head.

I feel bad for her. Clearly she needs help.  Sure, she's functioning and performing and delivering great vocals, but it's evident that she's malnourished. The Petal video shocked me with how bony she is and more so that a group of people approved the video. She's looking like Eugenia Cooney. The normalization of getting insanely skinny + using ozempic is awfully strange.

I don't think it's fair to comment on people's bodys or speculate on anything unless it's a severe situation - and this is leaning in that direction.

Get help, Ari. I'm rooting for her.
