It is zero speculation that her bones are popping out and she looks unhealthy and it’s concerning

I think she should feel pressured to get help.

It’s irresponsible for anybody to ignore this.

She clearly is wanting people to see her bones as she is putting them on full display every single opportunity she can.

I don’t understand the rhetoric of “glamorizing having an ED” as something malicious when that would obviously be a dimension of how her illness manifests. I’m not saying that makes it right, but I think it’s weird that folks use that as a way to vacate themselves of empathy.

And people’s reactions prove she needs to keep showing it

Why you care? So disgusting of you. LEAVE ARIANA ALONE!

We shouldn’t care? We should ignore it? She knows what she’s doing and it’s not smart or healthy

I think Ariana knows what she’s doing though and she knows what she looks like and dresses accordingly…but at the same time , yes like you said that iiiis apart of her illness. But she has to know that what she’s doing is not smart or healthy, and it is selfish when you have such a platform and other women looking to you as a role model… so it’s just a tragic situation overall in every aspect

and we’re the public and we have every right to discuss it.

Again? :messga: She can’t catch a break, really. It’s all soooooo useless to say. Y’all think you can change anyone’s life in a good way writing stuff like this? Spoiler: you can’t. You won’t change her eating habits and you won’t change anyone else’s.

Yes but it’s important to keep speaking about what looks unhealthy and dangerous before people (the media) start to make it a trend and claim all women should look like this.

It’s happened before

People with EDs need love and acceptance. We can talk about them without putting a moral obligation onto her. I look to public figures to learn about life because they go through what we go through but on a world stage. celebrities can't stop their own spiritual and physical processes, even when under pressure to do so. In fact, that is one of the powers of pop art. We witness people on their journeys. We do have a right to talk about Ariana, I won't argue with that. And we can talk about her as one of us. Someone with all sorts of Sh1t going on, trying to survive and find self love.

It’s just dangerous. If people see her and start to think “wow she is sooo thin , you can see her bones….i kinda wanna look like that too..”

she needs to stop with the veganism bullsheet and eat properly for a change. it does feel extremely dangerous and unsettling when her work is quite literally centred around the idea of death. rn she doesn’t look like someone who’s going to live for very long and it is heartbreaking witnessing this in front of our eyes.

This, as well as every Ariana thread and discourse is highly triggering. So imma say my two cents and bounce (and this is regarding my experience as a person who's battled with ED for the majority of thier adult life, I represent only myself and not other people who suffer with EDs):

1)she holds little to no moral responsibility when it comes to who she might "inspire", calling a clearly distressed woman in the public eye selfish for being ill is downright insensitive and tactless and does no one any favors. I still hold no grudge against Angelina Jolie who greatly influenced how I want my body to look for DECADES, on the other hand I hold my parents responsible for me having no support system whatsoever which led me to seek dangerous and realistic body image.

It's absurd to call her behavior (which is for the most part a manifestation of her disorder) - 'normalizing" unhealthy and sickly bodies as the next trend in women's body stander on one hand, and very obviously seeing the media and internet tear this woman to shreds on the other, pretty much no one is happy about this, so what brownie points are you expecting with the preaching exactly, talking about we should criticize her cus she's a role model???!

2)I think it's generally best to leave actual mental health discourse to professionals. Anyone being in the limelight doesn't make them fair game for you to go off on something you inherently know nothing about.

And for all the sociologists out there, of course there will be another thin craze it's already here to a degree and it will reach its peak in two-to-five years and then die down and go back to body modifications or fuller figures. A lot more goes into society changing or favouring a body type (to less extreme measures) from the economy to scientific break throughs to yes pop culture. Pinning it all down on sick women dilutes the message and reads as fake af.

Poor thing. I really hope she can get help before it’s too late. It would be purposeful ignorance to deny she’s dangerously underweight. I’m old enough to have seen many stars die from solvable issues, and as grim as it is to even talk about that, I think she needs medical intervention ASAP.

And shame on whomever is in her management that allows her to go on tour like this.

as a fan, I feel conflicted. cuz ik the best thing is not to talk about it... Ik ppl w body disorders they are aware and just wish others would leave them alone/not bring it up cuz it feels like ppl r having pity for u. but the other part of me just hopes ari is ok. she's always been skinny so im guessing its genetics, but never she been the skinny so I doubt its normal. I hope her support system around her can point her in the right direction cuz in the long run, this could lead to permanent effects on ur body.

What matters right now is what y’all say. If people choose to do something, it’s their responsability. And if they’re I’ll, then they’re I’ll and Ari has nothing to do with it.
