Freak had such beautiful verses and a bridge but the chorus was a lil not what I was wanting- still enjoyed it. Bad thing was my fav by far - that spooky Cali beach rock vibe was so fun! I was one of the few who quite liked the lead single which was unusual for me, so I had a feeling about this one. The opening of Kiss Me really floored me, this is one of her most gorgeous tracks. And I felt that the other ones were sweet, airy, gentle and all-round very pleasant on the ear. Another album with no grand display of vocals, though. I don't know if she's doing it to protect her voice now or if it's just her preferred style. Not seeing why this was experimental for her as some are saying because it sounds like the style she's done for quite a while now but I can get behind how there's not lots of obvious chart fodder here. The lyrics were better than what she usually puts out and while the situation of the theme is a bit eyebrow raising (it's obviously all about Ethan followed by Ricky which suggest that she was already back with him for quite some time to write all this and was there some overlap?), I can accept the art for what it is as opposed to who's making it. My ultimate faves were Kiss Me, Hate That I Made You Love Me, Petal, Big Feelings, Like I Do and Never Get Over Me. It's ironic that this is the album that a lot of critics are more meh about when they've been loving her work for so long now and I've been the one that's been meh. But I feel that this is her best album since Dangerous Woman, which I've been eagerly waiting for her to achieve. Clearly, whenever she makes an album about Ricky, she's onto something! It’s been 24/7 for an entire year, it’s completely useless, mean and if someone has access to Ari images on the internet, then they also have access to education and are aware of what’s good for them or not. Better than Positions but Eternal Sunshine is still her best. I need to give it more listens because honestly I don’t remember any of it but Freak was kind of a standout, potential next single.
