oof this kinda implies theyve been scrapped from her new album and pushed off into a seperate project, doesn't it? i dont wanna be mean but i cant imagine whatever nonsense she cooks up after them is going to do that much better so why not just stick with the original idea at this stage 😭 she never has faith in her projects but whatever she creates next is literally always worse so likeee

Never has faith in her projects? She described "Witness" as meaningful pop. That's next level "My kid is going to the NFL when he grows up" definition of faith. If she had anymore faith in her projects she'd actually be able to resurrect her career.

That’s what I’m saying :awkney:

An Abra vinyl/cd single could’ve pushed it top 10.

Disease and TDD also deserves vinyls/cd singles

Meanwhile Interscope isn't lifting a finger for Gaga's discography... :madge:

in all fairness Gaga has shown she can still produce hits, good album sales and massive sold out tour. Even without massive Interscope aid. (Although they did aid in pushing DWAS to become the biggest hit of the 2020s).

I've always wondered why we haven't gotten physicals for the singles besides Die With a Smile. Nowadays every single seems to get a 7inch release... Ariana even had 7inch variants for her latest single. Olivia had a vinyl, CD and cassette for her singles pre-album...

Even the 4inch tiny vinyl are becoming so popular right now.

Although I'm not the biggest fan of a record that just has one or two songs on it.

Why would they, though? There’s a massive difference in the goals of Interscope/Gaga and Katy Perry, who recently sold the rights to her entire discography and therefore, has the cash on hand and incentive to try and promote her newer singles which are the only ones she’ll be getting any royalties from in the future when they’re played, performed, etc.

It’s clear the focus of MAYHEM was on the album itself / promoting it as a body of work, which worked and resulted in it being her most acclaimed album yet with nominations across the entire General Field at the Grammys.

Her fans still laugh over the amount of physical sales her last lead single sold (even though the number cited never includes the figures from album release week) and bring up other things like the $0.99 Amazon deal on BTW’s first week, MR “only being a hit because of the SB,” “collabGA,” etc. all the time to downplay the success of her work.

If they’d released physical singles, there’d be a giant asterisk next to Abra every time it was mentioned here to remind everyone that it “only went top 10 because of physicals,” and doesn’t count as a true hit blah blah blah.

To be fair I think it’s Gaga the one that doesn’t care about these things. Billie is under Interscope too and she released a Birds of a Feather vinyl.

But anyway, at least the most important thing is there: the quality of Gaga’s music. As long as we keep getting songs like Disease, Abracadabra and Vanish Into You I’m fine with no physicals lol.
