I felt like the female characters were bit one-note and underdeveloped and could have been used much better, but alas, that's Christopher Nolan for ya. Anne Hathaway blew me away. In typical Nolan fashion, the film is conservative in tone and message. There's a touch of feminism here and there, but like most Nolan films, except maybe Interstellar, the female characters are very one note.
