In retrospect I like MDNA more. Yeah it’s dated production wise.

Rebel Heart was way too cringey with the lyrics and autotune for me - she was purposefully pushing the boundaries of sexuality but it just came off as too try hard.

Madame X I can appreciate the artistry and experimental route she took but most of the album was skips for me. Too much autotune and just her vocal delivery fell flat for me. Even God Control which I liked when it came out was kinda hard to listen to recently when I played the album again.

To me, her best 2010s album is Rebel Heart because of the ballads and more stripped-down songs, but the bar is on the floor. At least 50 % of Rebel Heart is ruined by cringe lyrics and tacky production.

I wonder what MDNA could've been if she had dedicated more time to making it.

I enjoyed Madame X upon its release, but I think I was just happy about a new Madonna project, and I was more forgiving towards her. 

While I don't disagree with many of the messages Madonna is trying to convey on Madame X, I often find the execution to be awful. Some tracks have genuinely redeemable qualities, but most of the time, it feels like I'm listening to a slurring femmebot.

And let's not get into how deeply tone-deaf this album is and the era that came after it lol. So glad it's all over
