I think it's a decent song but yes, a misstep. Promo doesn't matter if the song is just ok. Really wish she released GOE or VIY after Abracadabra esp. after gaining so much international momentum.

I’ll never stop saying GOE last summer would’ve been her biggest club hit since Applause!!

Right? First the fact that VIY was included on the album sticker and promoted on the playlists. Then GOE replaced it and was used as the F1 official anthem. And after all the hype they decided to stop releasing MAYHEM singles until the connected Wednesday’s release of The Dead Dance (7 months gap since Abra). In Europe HBDUWM was picked as the radio „single” for summer but even with that they didn’t release it officially.
Around the time of her Copacabana show anything released would be a hit and that would be a smart move with such a hype and single-material songs.
The era was AMAZING but I’m still not over the fact that they missed the best opportunity to have another smash - without doing anything because Coachella and Copa would carry it.

From the little bit of research I did, I think the winner of this category will be announced tomorrow (9/5) at the creative arts primetime Emmy's night 1.  Can anyone else confirm? I was thinking we had to wait for the Emmy's ceremony on 9/14 but I think we will know by tomorrow?

Yes, that’s correct.

Yes, I do believe it will be in the creative arts Emmys. They are tomorrow, September 5 and Sunday, September 6. It looks like the original music category is on the second day: https://deadline.com/2026/07/emmys-cuts-televised-categories-2026-ceremony-1236997119/

Completely serious, tbh. Much, much better than that half-baked 90s house wet fart of a track

I hope your pillow always remains hot.

Didn't know they were happening right now. Hard to tell what her chances are since I don't watch the competition but at least she already has an Emmy so there's that.

Not the basis of my reasoning at all. The basis of my reasoning is that I think neither are exceptionally written songs, regardless of style or genre.

If that’s the standard you hold the Oscars to, then yes, both songs would be welcome additions, I guess.

If Naatu Naatu won over Hold My Hand and others, Shape Of A Woman deserves... Glamorous Life was the obvious choice and the most likely to win but they fumbled
