i seriously doubt every one of those people that are sick at least 3 times a month actually are every time.

Yeah, this bitch at my work who spends her entire days playing on her phone and faking that's she working for a few seconds when a manager passes by, who just happens to be sick on every busy week... there is definitely abuse.

Isn't the UK doing the same? I think I read something similar a couple days ago on the amazing source of information that is TikTok

Not really.

The now previous PM and DWP Secretary had launched a trial last month lasting 12 months in 4 regions which would scrap "sick notes" in favour of personalised plans where the worker would either be given a new version of a sick note alongside a healthcare referral or a direct referral to occupational health to support the worker & employer avoid absence throughly legally protected reasonable adjustments. It also allows non-GPs to provide fit notes to try and ease workload on GPs - currently, if you need physio to return to work the physio can't certify you as fit to return to work it has to go via your GP, under the new rules they could cut out the GP visit.

So it's supposed to turn the current sick note system, where you get no healthcare support guaranteed to support a return to work into a system where you get supported back into work. Its supposed to address the issue of people being signed off from work due to stress & workplace issues like not having reasonable accomodations in place to support disabled workers.

We'll see if it works. Or if the new PM scraps it.

I thought this was normal anyway? If you need to take several days off work sick you do need to present a medical certificate. This is pretty normal in Australia at least but depends on the employer as well

It's a PITA tbh. Last thing I wanna do when I'm sick is leave my house. But there's no law about needing it here, only a law that your employer can ask for one.

Last few times I called in sick and they never asked me for anything :vegas:

Do you feel him sir?
