While this is definitely a bad look, I don’t think they fully realised who he is. 3 hours ago, onTheBrink said: Girl...I'm sure when you're rich and powerful like she is, you know what everybody in the room does for a living... So tacky to just blindly invite every rich and powerful person you can think of to your wedding. An event that is usually about celebrating your love for one another and having that witnessed by your closest loved ones. But can't really expect much else from the queen of capitalism Edited yesterday at 01:50 AM by Helxig I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. 6

Why should someone have to live in fear simply because they support an artist? Why do you not put this energy into people who support Nicki Minaj or Kanye West? So you’re okay with ignoring the writings on the wall for a white artist? All of these artists should be condemned. It’s okay to Admit taylor swift is just using marketing to come across as a “democrat” 1

EART HL I NG 1,081 Posted yesterday at 02:30 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:30 AM This thread seems fun Also this is so unsurprising and expected imo. AsleepOnTheCeiling 6,886 Posted yesterday at 02:44 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:44 AM My phone messed up and I can't get it to space my quotes correctly so: @sour candy MV soon I wasn't part of the argument but I appreciate you taking a moment to step back and reel in your feelings instead of lashing out. I think good people can do bad things and bad people can do good things. Taylor has done a lot of good things but the intention behind those things can be questionable and overall she seems to put effort where she wants it and everything seems to be about managing her brand and her image rather than genuity. @Helxig I don't mean to be condescending or attacky but I personally stopped using the term "white trash" because there's a underlying implication that trash would normally be PoC. Like white is the exception to the trash rather than an even footing for people across all colors and it seems racist. I know you probably didn't mean it like that at all but it's something I just wanted to bring to light at least from my perspective. 3 hours ago, sour candy MV soon said: I’m sorry, I think I took this too far and won’t post any further. While I am a delusional Swiftie, I also respect & appreciate GGD’s insightful commentary, and am just as big of a Little Monster. I now see regardless the reason, they shouldn’t have invited him. It just hurts seeing one of my favourite artists virtually being subjected to “MAGA scum” when (in my opinion) she has done some positive work. But there is definitely a lot (and I mean a LOT) more she can do, and she needs to distance herself away from people who support MAGA. Sorry again. 48 minutes ago, Helxig said: So Travis's best friend comes from the kind of family who would be okay with running an ICE detention centre. Sounds about right. AsleepOnTheCeiling 6,886 Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM Overall I still feel very strongly that Taylor is part of the MAGA pipeline even if I come off as a conspiracy theorist for it.
Chromanne 2,562 Posted yesterday at 03:14 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:14 AM (edited) I understand that a lot of people love Taylor as an artist and also as a person since she is deeply connected to her fandom however inviting an ICE detention centre executive is an insult to all her POC fans. Even if it's her husband Travis who invited him, she still got a say on who should attend and who should not. If her husband didn't give her even that freedom that she needs to question her choice after all her past boyfriends. I think that she is just unbothered by her husband's right wing affiliations since she is already a billionaire now and had profited enough from the LGBTQ movement and other democratic politics. SleepingSun 1,225 Posted yesterday at 06:23 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:23 AM (edited) Oh, come on, stop trying to find excuses! I don't care if 'thousands of people' were invited, and don't tell me 'she didn't know'. As a person of her level of fame and influence, she has a responsibility. By inviting that ICE guy, she has made her position clear: She doesn't care. In times like these, where people and children are illegally ripped from their homes, taken off the streets and from their work, then put into ICE detention centers where the inhumane conditions, abuse, rape and torture drive the detainees into suicide; inviting someone affiliated with these crimes against humanity is a crime in itself. If she truly didn't know, she needs to apologize, otherwise, she is as evil as them. Period. So far, my comments against her were more or less annoyance at an uber rich woman who did things that felt out of touch. But this is different. Feel free to drag me through the dirt and defend your darling billionaire. If Gaga did this, my reaction would be the same. This isn't about entertainment anymore, this is about human rights. Am I overreacting? Those who invite people to their wedding who are responsible for crimes against humanity deserve an overreaction. If only people would start defending victims of fascist regimes as much as they defend their favorite popstars.
