Sister, you won’t find much solidarity in anti-Madonna sentiment here.

but I agree. It’s a big meh for me.

Consider your allies on this one, sister. There’s still time to come to the light…

I loved it on first listen. Can't wait to take it all in with the official release. Some songs do drag a little but nothing major. Loved the narrative and the references to her past work. It feels like one long night at the club, the vibes are immaculate

Ok I have listened to it again and it has grown on me a bit.

I still much prefer the first Confessions and can't say I love every song here but I liked quite a few songs more after listening again especially I Feel So Free, Bring Your Love, Danceteria, Bizarre (especially that one), Love Sensation, My Sins Are My Savior, The Test and L.E.S Girl. I would say overall I enjoy the second half more and I think that that half is more experimental but the album as a whole is more experimental than most pop we get now so I appreciate that and I do appreciate Madonna doing dance pop again after all these years. I can also hear the influence from some of her older work now especially Ray Of Light and Madame X. I think the thing holding me back from liking it more is the excessive autotune and how her voice sounds and if her voice sounded different I would probably like it more. It could grow on me more after more listens but idk if it will or how often I will revisit it.

The album is good. I mostly enjoyed it and 6 out of I think 16 tracks I really liked.

BIZARRE however is THAT GIRL. that is pop perfection and it made me really happy and dance like a maniac

You’re the only person who I respect enough to reconsider my opinion on it… but she just does nothing for me. It’s just so hollow to me.

I will listen to it today and so far the first reviews I read were rather unfavorable but I am glad to have read hear some favorable reviews now  because I almost believed it's gonna be bad but I prefer to believe it will be good because I want it to be good because lately these days nothing else would amaze me, so this album just HAS to deliver :poot:

Ok well I loved every second of Confessions II. This album feels less over-produced than Madame X did, and it’s overall more cohesive. I definitely understand the title, and also where that could make some feel misled. A blend of Confessions/Ray of Light was accurate, but I would even throw in some of American Life returns here.

Also Ms Lola!? We see you ma’am!

If anyone has  been a long time Madonna fan will likely love this album .It’s such a true return to form, lyrics, music and production is pure Madonna. If it lasts the time well time will tell but for fans this is a true gem at this stage of anyone’s career. And I’m not one of those die-hard fans although I love so many of her albums and this is up there with her best.

Hey mods @PartySick @Flippy or whoever else, can we consider rolling this and any other individual thread about opinions on Confessions into one mega thread about the album (maybe even the one that exists about the “Out Now” that already has 17 pages with people sharing their reactions there?  So we don’t get a bunch of threads each devoted to one person’s take now that the album is out.

Honestly this album once again proved to me that (and this is absolutely no shade/hate) that Madonna and Gaga never deserved to be compared ….

been wanting to make a detailed thread about it for years, but never had the energy lol

I feel like Gaga and Madonna are queer community icons and “pop” artists,  but that’s about it tbh?

their music can not be more different, and most of all their approach to music. They are both GODESSSSSESSSSSSSS AND QUEENS

HOWEVER DO NOT GET IT TWISTED, Madonna is the BLUEPRINT, and she proved it once again with Confessions. She goes places where Gaga never went with her music: fearless, all the way, no rules, and most of all RAW and unfiltered. Yes Gaga has very exprimentel songs like Aura, “Judas”, 911, Abracadabra,….. but she usually sticks to the same song format.

with Madonna, eepecially on albums like Confessions 1, ROL, Erotica, BTS, Music, American Life,……..takes way more risks on every level. Im not saying that to discredit Gaga in any way, I’m just saying for me personally Gaga’a music is usually verrrrry hit or miss. And even when it’s an amazing album (lately), there’s still a “hmmmmmm” factor to it… Mayhem was amazing, but some songs sound super generic and lazy compared to others

Madonna’s music when she’s at her best, to me, feels at some points way more deep and detailed, innovative, and raw than Gaga’s mysic

so when they were starting to be compared I never really understood why other than the fact they stood up for Gays and were into their visuals a lot…

PS: I love Gaga, she’s my nr1-2 queen, so don’t think this is an attack or a forced comparison… we can share opinions here and be honest as long as it’s respectful

It's okay. Too little variety for me though. The beats are cool, but Madonna's vocal delivery sounds dry and uninspired. Lyrics aren't anything special either. I see a lot of people saying this is her best album in 20 years, but Madame X is for more innovative imo. This is a fun album, but it's almost like Madonna cosplaying Madonna.
