I just came back on Grindr after 2 years and in 48h they already makes me want to delete it. Ghosting, blocking out of nowhere, fake profiles, gloomy guys who nearly want a mold of your stick before to meet you so they're sure to not waste their precious time... It's hard to find a place where we aren't targeted and degraded for being ourselves. The language in this app seems all gendered as men. That's how I know immediately that if I go on, biggoted people who are against us participating will make their cases be heard! Or they will chase. I would love an app that actually worked for trans people.... that didn't involve making the app specifically for us. We just get pushed out and sent to our designated bubbles. Who implied that femme people can't be boys? Let’s use critical thinking and nuance, we’re alive in 2026 where specific use of language communicates specific things. We don’t need laments terms (and they won’t use it because otherwise they’d be outed as bigoted) there’s a rise in anti-trans and anti-femme people in the gay community on dating apps (mostly from the people who this app appeals to) hidden as preference, plus this is in line with those gay groups where members are “men who just happen to like men” we know what you’re trying to say girl. People deny accountability by using non-direct language but intention is clearly communicated. Plus all the marketing images for this app are of fit cis masc presenting men. Marketing language matters. And as I said earlier in the thread, everything they’re promising already exists on every other gay dating app. Mainly hookup apps. It’s a nothing burger and him just trying to make money off of men who look like him and are “against hookup apps” which (from my experience) the people who hate hookup apps are normally generically attractive cis white men who only want people like themselves and dont like being hit on by not gym fit young white men. 1 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
