I don't think Abracadabra's success can be attributed to that. Plenty of songs, Gaga's and otherwise, have gotten similar pushes and flopped. But both things can be true: 1) Abracadabra is the best song on Mayhem and 2) An album with Abracadabra + 14 inferior versions of Abracadabra would've been way worse than what Mayhem turned out to be.

I’m not saying it’s *solely* attributed to that, but I don’t think that’s a trivial factor either. Quality + exposure surely helped.
