NUTELLA 25,460
NUTELLA-Approved songs: American Life- 1 song (Die Another Day) Hard Candy- 4 songs (4 Minutes, Devil Wouldn't Recognize You, Give It 2 Me, She's Not Me) MDNA - 3 songs (Girl Gone Wild, Gang Bang, I'm Addicted) Rebel Heart - 3 songs (Living For Love, Bitch I'm Madonna, Rebel Heart) Madame X - 0 songs --- So I guess Hard Candy is the most underrated? ...but Living For Love is my fave Madonna song. The math is complicated I run into Debi Mazar
Bronco 23,356
I'd usually say American Life, but I think in recent years its had a much kinder reappraisal by her fans. Took em 20 years to get over not getting the Madonna album they expected, but they finally recognise the quality that was always there lol So I'm voting MX. Yes its messy, yes it has some clear trend hopping moments forced in that disrupt the album's flow and theme. But it was the first time Madonna took risks and had something to say since American Life. Its not perfect, but there's legitimate artistry on it. MDNA gets fairly treated imo, so does Rebel Heart. And Hard Candy does better than it probably deserves tbh The gays know how to party

The themes, the production, the statements.. so good! But it really got bogged down by constantly adding random people onto it.

My brain isn’t even computing that American Life could’ve ever been badly received.

AVeryGagaHolyDick 31,441
Madame X deserved more. The autotune is too much but the music and vision are really great
Anderson123 42,332
Bedtime Stories. Hard Candy, MDNA, Rebel Heart and Madame X are not underrated at all, they’re just that bad and messy.
TimotheeChalamet 6,914
I thought Rebel Heart wasn't considered a bad album except for like 3 songs Edited 3 hours ago by TimotheeChalamet

NUTELLA 25,460
You know what? I probably should not have participated in this thread, because I'm not an "album girl," but I looked through my library & I wanted to amend my earlier statement... I enjoy parts of songs from Madame X: Killers Who Are Partying (1:47 - 2:10) is quite pretty & Dark Ballet (2:03 - 2:34) is addictive, because of the classical sample & because I'm a sucker for vocoder cameos I anticipate CONFESSIONS II will be a mostly "find marshmallows in the cereal" experience for me, but as long as said marshmallows are fluffy enough, that is still exciting I run into Debi Mazar
