I genuinely feel bad for her and I hate that people (including y’all) are dogpiling and being mean for no reason. Her music is not terrible, and she’s done nothing terribly wrong.

You all clutch your pearls when people say hateful things about Gaga, Charli, Taylor, or Britney here, but Lizzo can be dragged to hell.

Anyway….

Call me crazy, but I think there is some sort of smear campaign, and one of my biggest reasons for believing so is Nicki Minaj. She randomly tweeted that vile tweet about Lizzo back in February, and I personally think it’s safe to say that Nicki is not above taking a little $$ to make a ridiculous statement or post. Now every blog page, gossip page, even film and tv pages are making posts. A Rolling Stone headline? Odd.

I can’t help but feel kind of bad for her. She’s talented and I like some of her music but I don’t know how she comes back from this.

It's odd that she's saying how streaming's taken over radio. She says it as if it just happened. It took over years ago, including when she was at her peak. Also, how does she know that her fans discovered her music through radio? I've never discovered an artist through radio, not then, not ever. YouTube, promotional tv performances, GGD...so many places that I find out about them but not radio. So, I think she's kidding herself and trying to find a reason that has nothing to do with her. But that industry insider who said that if she knew the industry was changing that she should've warned her fans by telling them to request her single on radio also baffles me. Who requests songs on radio anymore? They're told what to play and most of radio plays old songs anyway. Using radio to promote a song hasn't been a thing for a long time. And "warn" your fans? Fans will consume music how they want and no, they won't do anything their fave tells them. They'll do what they feel comfortable with.

Yes, there was issues with her backing dancer scandal and dropping all that weight made her curvy fans feel like she was no longer an artist for them. But having a core fanbase is the bone of contention. Problem is, there's no magic spell that can give you loyal fans. If there was, everyone would be doing it. Some artists just have a 2 successful albums and then everyone moves on. And it's no reflection of the artist's talent or image. It's sad, but it's just life.
