himerosxo 517
Do What U Want is one of her best songs. It’s up there for me. Had it not involved homeboy, it would’ve been a classic Gaga record. That’s a conversation yall aren’t ready to have. 3 1

Junko Enoshima 4,434
Mayhem as a whole is overrated. It sounds flat to me idk what they did but it’s FLAT asf. Perfect Illusion is good until she starts singing. Love the intro and the bridge, the rest of the song can gtfo. Plastic Doll is ****, lyrics and production, melody etc. I don’t know why yall switched sides but it’s still horrible to me and I can understand why she still hasn’t performed it yet. I have a lot more but I’ll be respectful as of today My b00vs are hopelessly huge 3 1

TheARTPOPball 1,539
Mayhem just really feels to me like a Halloween dance party record (which I love) but was not what I was expecting at all. People saying it was a return to form kinda feels a little - idk. If this was her true return to her original sound it feels kind of cheap.

Idk how to explain it but I will do my best songs like Bad Romance, Dance in the Dark, Teeth, Monster, Bloody Mary, (most of the born this way album) feel more conceptual to me. The songs on mayhem that fit the same “vibe” feel more thematic than conceptual I guess is what I’m saying. Something’s missing. It could just be that the former is just better written. it’s a lyrical thing. I feel like her lyricism is what’s really holding her back from creating another record in the same vein of born this way- the fame monster. There’s an edge to those songs she’s missing now. The songs on mayhem felt a little more “the monster mash” type vibes ( which again I do love). But in comparison to her earlier tracks that felt a little more bold and avant garde. Hope this makes sense. Edited Tuesday at 10:30 AM by TheARTPOPball
Kayioshka 3,203
She should sometimes do music with softer tones too like Eh, Eh to give us again a bigger importance to the unique melodies. And she also have a very pleasing voice when she speaks quietly. I wish she dropped an album with slower rythms, maybe more guitars and piano, and there would be original melodies. In my peace era. I’ve always appreciated her sweeter vocals and the bubblegum-iness of Eh, Eh. She doesn’t ever sing in that style anymore unfortunately
