I feel like Katys music isn't that bad. It's her persona and lack of self awareness that irritates me. Her albums on the whole have some very good tracks, particularly deep album cuts like roulette, bigger than me, walking on air, international smile and crush. But they're never anything amazing, ground breaking or seem to push her artistically. But her music is always fairly safe and im my opinion decent. Best album has to be prism but teenage dream is up there. Worst is probably smile.. but half of 143 is also trash. Also some songs are just cringe, but I wouldn't say that about her whole catalogue.

it's One of the Boys. As much as it looks like she's trying to come back to that sound with her recent release for some reason the magic of it fell off.

 

Teenage Dream singles carried the album, imo PRISM was a better album than TD.

I think PRISM has so many good tracks, that album was really poorly marketed because of the singles they’ve chosen and I believe that’s the main reason why Katy began to flop 

I wish they had marketed it as her mature/divorce/womanhood album (kinda like Joanne) but insisting on the silly stuff like Roar and Dark Horse MV ultimately pushed her audience away 

While Teenage Dream has indeed higher highs such as the singles, the album tracks kinda fall flat for me (except for Hummingbird Heartbeat) and PRISM is the complete opposite, the album tracks stand out a lot more

She really is not an album artist. Its tempting to say teenage dream, but the non singles on teenage dream are pretty awful. Circle the Drain for example sounds like the vocals were recorded and mixed underwater. 

Prism is her best album all the way through, has some really good deep cuts. Ghost, Walking on Air, International Smile are all pretty great.

TD singles > Prism singles
Prism album > TD album > Witness album

Never listened to the others, I don't think I listened to any other stuff she released after Witness, except NRO and Harleys In Hawaii, and I listened to Woman's World and bandaids once

Probably Prism, it has better deep cuts than Teenage Dream and I think Unconditionally and Walking On Air are quite underrated. It has cliché or basic writing like most of her albums but I like it much more than something like Witness or Smile. I feel the same way towards TD that I do something like My Everything by Ariana where it feels like a hits heavy album with lesser quality album tracks that felt more like afterthoughts. That being said I do like Who Am I living For a bit, that was decent and kind of deep for her subject wise.

Out of her discography, the album I am most likely to listen to is Smile. Second most likely is Prism, but I like Smile a lot more as an entire body of work - no skips for me, but Prism has a couple (Dark Horse is one!)
