It must be. If you get help and gain weight, you'd have to admit that the Internet was right and will likely be confronted with that question in the future. This is why I don't like it when people comment on celeb's bodies, like please just let people live and deal with their own issues. She doesn't need the Internet barking at her.

See atp it's more than just about Ariana, it's about the image that's being pushed on her young fans and young people in general, especially women. So if there is no backlash and no conversation it means that we as a society accept this, which is so wrong. So I'm glad that there is a pushback, people are concerned and disturbed, it's a natural reaction to seeing someone withering away on a huge stage infront of the world.

People can be worried and just keep it in their heads, though. Saying it won’t change anything, and let’s be real — a good 95% of those comments aren’t about being worried but about Ari looking “disgusting.”

The full ass bullying Ari’s faced for the last year or two just isn’t “a natural reaction”, come on now. It’s just neat cruelty.

Yeah this is nothing but an excuse to express resentment towards Ariana for a lot of people. And it overall just does not seem productive or well intentioned. People once again don't know the full story. Not too long ago a Tik Tok creator disappeared for a few months and came back looking a lot more skinny. For which she was called out for. She responded to a comment that said "Another beautiful young face ruined by Buccal Fat Removal" in which she said "I achieved this look the natural way. By getting cancer". We once again don't know the full story and are assuming. So maybe instead of "not condoning eating disorders to teach the kids" we just teach kids not to talk about other people's bodies at all.

I'm 100% sure she is aware of the comments and attention it's getting but it's even more concerning those around her are not helping her more especially since being on tour is very demanding even for a healthy person.

Well if she’s aware and I believe at least her team is, what is she supposed to do about it? She will not gain weight in a matter of days or weeks or heal from an ED that quickly… Also I don’t think she will cancel the whole tour either she’s been this skinny for the past year or two so it didn’t start when she was preparing for the tour and her team is completely aware of what they’re making her go through

This whole reaction online must suck for her because there’s nothing she can do to fix it and the comments on her look completely eclipsed the comments on the actual tour she’s put a lot of effort into I suppose

I have so much empathy for her, dealing with an addiction like an eating disorder is so complicated to address because the discourse can help fuel it, and I’m sure she isn’t thinking rationally and I would never blame someone for getting caught up in it. However, I don’t think we can ignore it at this point or chalk it up to other reasons. Usually I never am one to say “think of the children” when it comes to pop stars at ALL but in this case I don’t think we can turn a blind eye and make excuses for it, because I’m worried about younger fans thinking that this is normal. Even for the sake of others who are going through the same issues. Again, I’m not demonizing her personally. I hope that she has a support network, and I’m more disheartened by the people who allowed this tour to happen when it’s not in the best interest for her health.

Yeah. This is reminding me of the Monsterball 1.0.

Nothing she can do to fix it? :what:

Part of the preparation for the tour should have been getting her BACK to a healthy weight...she once had breasts and now all people see are ribs and shoulder back bones...it's not normal just because its been that way for a couple of years

I don't know on which side of the internet you are but what I see is a genuine concern about her health. And let's be clear, what I said was "natural reaction to seeing someone withering away on a huge stage infront of the world" specifically in regards to the world tour. Obviously Ariana did not put together the whole tour, I've never seen a pop girl in such emaciated and malnourished state on a world tour. We know that it’s very taxing the body. I really question her "support system" and her team who booked her to perform for damn near 50 shows in her current condition.

Let's not forget that statistically ED is the deadliest mental illness. So you can keep all the concern in your head till she's no longer with us. But I personally don't think acting like nothing is happening infront of your very eyes is the right thing to do.

I find it interesting tbh.

She's openly said she doesn't have an eating disorder and she's asked people to stop commenting on her body.

I'm wondering if the scale went the other way and she suddenly showed up at 300lbs what would the conversation be? Would people be so chill with making assumptions about her health and mental state then? Or would they say it's her body, her health, and to respect her privacy without being jerks?

Lemme try something...

Hmm :partysick:

Kinda puts the "concern" in a different perspective.

Idk, I don't have a horse in this race personally 'cause her body isn't my business. It just kinda gives me the ick how prepared everyone is to comment on the woman's image and health which is no one's place but her own, her loved ones, and her healthcare professionals if there really is a problem.

I mean as someone who was 300lbs and heavier. You can absolutely hit that weight without an eating disorder. But it is a result of disordered eating & improper nutrition - and often becomes a self-sustaining cycle in decision making that maintains or increases the weight.

You can also lose a significant amount of weight and get skinny without an eating disorder as a result of disordered eating and improper nutrition as well. Especially with the treatments available now. My driving instructor is on mounjaro, is slim and on the jabs legitimately can't stomach eating some days.

I'd argue though, that being skinny to the point that bone is visible and her skin looks paper thin/tight over it is would require significant malnutrition. Like her body is akin to pictures of people in famines.

She may not have a common ED like bulimia/anorexia whicy have specific behaviours associated with them. But I have seen rumours she's on ozempic & coupled with long standing rumours about drug habits throughout her career, she could have taken her body to a very dangerous place without having an explicitly defined ED.

I recently found out that she used to body check on her Tumblr back in the day which suggests that she might be struggling with ED for a long time now.

My point is I think it's weird to comment on others' bodies regardless but people tend to only see the taboo of it when you're talking about someone who's heavy.

There are a lot of rumours at the moment she had an ED secret tumblr acc back in the day and may have similar on insta now.
But these are just rumours as far as I know. And celebrity news sites love rumours.

I agree and disagree.

There's a line in my view between the people who are just gawping at whatever is going on which is akin to people slowing down to look at the aftermath of a crash and people pointing out that someone needs help.

Especially because in my experience, its the gawpers and the people saying to ignore warning signs that are the loudest "why didn't anyone do anything" voices when something bad happens afterwards.

She could’ve fixed it, I agree but there’s nothing she can do to fix it in the short term to avoid all this negative reaction (that’s what I originally meant!)
