Was the Enigma wig really the biggest villain?

Cuz I think it was a smear campaign orchestrated by Haus Labs to draw our attention away from the true culprit 

   

I quickly threw on the Mayhem glam in Photoshop to see if it would make the wig look more harmonious. I always throught the Enigma looks could've at least been decent if the makeup didn't clash as much as it did 

It's not perfect and I think that the glow-in-the-dark lips were non-negotiable for Gaga. But we like to experiment over here

I'm all here for a fun, campy, colorful make-up look as long as there's rhyme and reason.

But matching a neon green tule outfit AND soft teal anime pigtails AND heavy black eyebrows AND black eyeliner AND face stickers AND glow-in-the-dark lipstick??? My eyes need a rest

A lot went wrong with Enigma, and it wasn’t the wig. I don’t know what was going on behind the scenes during that time, but when Gaga talks about Chromatica in a negative light I imagine she’s referring to this time period specifically. The sudden change in creative direction, the weird Eli stuff, her IG posts, it coming less than a year after the cancellation of the JWT dates, the pandemic, the adrenaline of ASIB. The cringey dialogue and vamp on stage felt off and at times almost like a possible indication that she was in a strange place mentally. There was a lot happening. Some* of the show’s costumes and props were actually great. Some even impressive.

I tried making the edit where I only swapped out the black eyebrows for the bleached eyebrows.

Ngl the look is kind of c*nt with this makeup. Feels true to the anime aesthetic (and also looks closer to her virtual avatar from the interludes)

It was the wig , sweetie

don’t get me wrong - the lip was AWFUL as well. And that neon green loofa outfit was AWFUL also. But the wig took it to the next level
