she’s a nice person and one of the few celebrities who has maintained a sense of normalcy and relatability to the common man.

just objectively false

having time limited variants BEFORE a song/album is even out is incredibly out of touch with the common man

mother, what must i do?

No one is being forced to buy them. If someone wants to buy them it’s their choice…

I don’t even agree with the variant strategy but if fans want to buy it then let them?

I do agree that her re-buying her masters was a bit stupid, but the reason why the originals had increased in value is pretty obvious. Between them being bought in 2019 and her buying them back in 2025, she re-peaked commercially, launched The Eras Tour which obviously massively increased the value of her catalogue and most of all, hadn't yet re-recorded Debut and Reputation, meaning the originals were the only available version.

the original catalog value didn't increase that's the point.. she paid something like $50 million more than the original price, because the value stayed the same, she basically gave a high bid just to buy them off because the re-recording was a waste of time and money.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

oh stop being naive. putting a 24 hour time limit on them creates fomo which does force them to buy them now or never. they have almost no choice, no opportunity to save up money for it. they have to get it NOW.

she doesn't need to be doing that, ever. fuel prices are rising, rent is rising, food costs are rising and this woman thinks it's acceptable to keep demanding money from fans before they've even heard the song?

she's incredibly detached from the common man

This woman is the definition of mediocrity (and manipulation)

Her success is not in proportion to her talent and abilities at all

But congrats

She's not the first one in the business to be an example of that.

Btw, how much is Gaga's net worth atm? It seems not changing at all since Joanne Era

She might have stopped updating it and asked places like forbes for the same (like not reporting the update, cos I'm sure they knows). She ought to save her some of fans from heartbreak and stay "ethical", cos she is likely close to be a billionaire now too.

Not particularly. The value of her original six albums did decrease considerably in 2021-22 when she started releasing the re-recordings, enough for it to be described as a drastic decrease. They then increased in value again when Midnights came out and The Eras Tour started. They've not been constant in terms of value.

The point 'it's stupid how she bought them back at basically the same price' ignores the fact that the price was not constant during those six years. In fact it was extremely volatile.

Um you can’t blame Taylor Swift if some of her fans are making bad financial decisions. That’s like saying Nike or Gucci made you poor due to all the exclusives they release and you can’t control yourself from not buying it. The onus is on the consumer, the final decision maker. Imagine going broke and telling people it’s because Taylor FORCED them to buy variants. :awkney:

We can just agree to disagree here.

you can blame taylor because she DOESN'T need to pressure her fans. she has a giant, loyal fanbase, they will buy her music anyway.

imagine defending the billionaire and calling her relatable to the common man :awkney: agree to disagree if you want but you're still wrong
