Drake has broken the record previously held by Michael Jackson for most No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100 by a solo male artist as “Janice STFU” bows atop the chart following the release of his trio of albums.

With that accomplishment, Drake now ties Rihanna and Taylor Swift for most No. 1s across all acts with 14 chart toppers. The only other artists ahead of them are Mariah Carey with 19 and the Beatles with 20.

Jackson solely held the record for the most Hot 100 No. 1s among male soloists for more than 35 years. x

Thee most Hot 100 No. 1s:

20, The Beatles
19, Mariah Carey
14, Drake
14, Rihanna
14, Taylor Swift
13, Michael Jackson
12, Madonna
12, The Supremes
11, Whitney Houston
10, Janet Jackson
10, Bruno Mars
10, Stevie Wonder

Throw enough garbage against the wall and something is bound to stick.

Records are made to be broken though. He could have 100 #1s and he wouldn't have an iota of the power and influence Michael had (and still has) and that's what really matters. No way to quantify that :diane:

But “cancel culture.” Been saying that **** barely works. This is wholly unearned. Drake hasn’t had a proper hit in YEARS. Sad to see

Well yeah, nowadays #1s on the Hot 100 are just a reflection of who's popular, it's nothing about the songs being loved.

I can sing every word to at least five songs (def more for most of them) of every artist on that list...except Drake.

And I only love three of them (Beatles, Rihanna and Whitney).

I feel that says something about the power of the Hot 100 these days.

Such records in the age of streaming and variants are not as impressive even as they used to be ten years ago.

Can’t compare cultural impact of hits back them to the lack of cultural impact of hits today.

The artists he's surrounded by...it could not be any more stark that one thing is not like the other. He may have those #1's in name only but his "hits" are not known by the public at large like the other names. He's one of those people who only the fans care about. He's the most major in the US, they take him the most seriously, as you can see here. In the UK, he hasn't had a #1 since 2020 (he currently has a song at #2 so I hope that doesn't change next week though) and the last publicly recognised songs he had was maybe the ones from Scorpion (God's Plan, Nice For What, In My Feelings) which was in 2018 and after that, his songs stopped getting mass recognition. Most of the public couldn't name a single Drake song after that time. It's truly just his fans that are keeping him afloat now. He's got enough, so it looks like he's successful but everyone else doesn't care.

Quick little #1’s that won’t stand the time (same can be applied to Miss TayMAGA Swift).
