That’s so cool I love that we find out more and more information every year about it. I wonder how the wedding photo concept would’ve came into it.

Kinda makes me think that she really did dedicate the album (secretly) to Luc, maybe the photo was too on the nose. I remembering hearing that You & I was considered an alt album title in the very early stages. Hence why the “this album is for u” has an umlaut above the Ü because it was low-key dedicated to Luc as well.

Nah, it was always Born This Way. Even before she had the album written. I haven’t seen the wedding shoot, but I do know the version of the wedding in the “Yoü & I” video was meant to be a tribute to her parents (her character in that scene is literally named Mother), so I suspect the wedding portrait for the album cover was for the same reason. Maybe relating her parents relationship with the one she had with Lüc Carl.

Viva la BORN THIS WAY! 15 years! Will never forget the day it came out. Will never ever forget listening to Marry The Night on farmville. The album just shows that Gaga is a one of a kind performance art & musical genius and cemented my fan-status forever. THANK YOU GAGA for blessing us with this masterpiece. X

Her most industrial sounding album to date. :vegas:

Nah Mayhem is infinitely more industrial influenced most of Born This Way is synthpop, glam rock and stadium rock

I wonder if there’s gonna be any 15th anniversary merch or maybe a special vinyl pressing

They still haven’t sold out of the 10th anniversary version.

It was one of the last, if not the last, albums I vividly remember sitting down in my room and reading the lyrics booklet to memorize every word. RIP to the lyric booklet. Also it came out my senior year right as I was graduating/going into college from a small town in Texas to Austin, so it really gave me the power to be more gay and myself than I had ever felt possible before. Thank you Stefani ♥️🖤

The era Lady Gaga bravely fought for what was right in the face of increasing adversity. This is why I love her.

And? People still bought it. And that was just in the US which isn’t as important as everyone makes out (since her biggest market is Japan)

Also fun fact Million Reasons was the last song to get 1m sales in just pure sales because by that time streaming had taken over and Gaga had terrible streaming numbers and most of her fans at the time still only purchased her music on iTunes.

BTW album has 4 million certified units in the US vs 750 k in Japan. All of her sales in other major markets put together don’t even amount to the US market. So, I’m not sure how you got that Japan is her biggest market.

Throwing this into the void:

Born This Way was a golden blast of strength for me. It is one of the reasons I didn't feel so alone as a highschooler.

I will always be grateful for this time with Gaga
