Apple’s airpods only support AAC (iTunes and Apple Music) and any other format like Spotify’s Ogg Vorbis and lossless FLAC gets converted to AAC when using airpods. Might as well listen to the straight up AAC file instead of multiple passes of conversion and compression.

Correct me if I’m wrong, any “high fidelity” audio on both Apple and Spotify requires you to be wired in directly. I was originally a Spotify subscriber and had both AM and Spotify at one time. On bluetooth Spotify sounds way more compressed and muddier than on AM imo.
