She hasn’t even had time to plan her wedding, never mind a family. And tbh artistically, if she feels like she’s ready to end this era, then she’s ready, whether that’s for a break or anything else. Mayhem has been fantastic, she’s clearly happy and inspired with everything she’s done - far better she ends on a high than drag it out and risk burnout. yeah i get the feeling with requiem and the grammys she's started brushing up on the edges of what she can aesthetically accomplish within mayhem and it was time to lay it to rest and move on. It would be nice but it's just not realistic, especially now that YT views don't count for Billboard charts placement.
nodandsmile 11,693
If we were in the early 2010s, it probably would've had like 6 singles being in the streaming era, I think it was well promoted!
KindnessPunk 2,359
She’s given us so much this era, that to me it does feel like its run its course. I’d love to be surprised and maybe we get one more single, but with the tour being over it seems unlikely. We still have Mayhem Requiem potentially getting noms, and the possible Mayhem Ball Film. But even if we don’t I’m feeling fulfilled and ready to close the chapter on Mayhem.
Controversiaga 13,607
Of the 3 solo singles, abracadabra Was the only one that did great. And there is nothing else on the album that sounds like abracadabra so on to the next!!! Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

Decodekid 30,059
Imo everything else she’s done besides singles has compensated “the lack” of singles. But technically, we got 5 singles/music videos in a span of 1.5 years (which is not usual btw) 4 of which came from the album, how are we not seeing that. I get the idea that DWAS and TDD, (dare I say even RUNWAY ) are not canon to Mayhem or whatever bs, but they’re still singles she’s put and promoted throughout the era. I still grief HBDUWM or Vanish not being singles but they were not paid dust either. Long Live Gretchen
RAMROD 115,702
It isn't, and it doesn't feels rush. It's not 2010s anymore, long era is not common now, cos to keep audience engaged, it need to be kept compressed, since people's attention span are getting shorter and shorter. The ones that still doing it are either an artist who know it will make sense doing that cos their fan base will ensure its success, like Taylor Swift, or boomer artists/bands that have largely boomer fans, so they don't care about being the hot topic or being viral on tiktok that much. robotvoiceinalice 2,095
I am really sad its all come to an end, i have loved this era with all my heart. Technically it started when she teased things at the Paris Olympics then later with DWAS, its gone on almost 2 years. Its shorter than her past eras, yes, but think about how much she has actually done this era. I do think there's more she could have done, but theres so many things that she has accomplished this era which im truly proud of and have loved. i do think this is just the beginning, perhaps she has ended it because LG8 is coming very soon. But at least she gets to end it on her terms and not have it being out of her control like past eras. If she wanted to she could have made it last another year or so. but idk, maybe we could be in for LG8 soon and maybe thats what Doechii and Gaga meant by theres more to come... Lets take away the positives of this era
steven 6,469
Well, I think Mayhem was a great era but it's been almost 2 years.. it's time to move on. I'm ready for a new album, but I know she might want to rest for a few years.

Also I think we overestimate the length of her early eras because of the bare minimal breaks she took. Just Dance came out in April 2008, the album in August 2008, the last single in July 2009. The Fame Ball ran March to September 2009. It was an 18 month long era. TFM released November 2009. Bad Romance in the October. So a month after The Fame era ended. The tour started in 2009 ended in May 2011. But the last TFM single had come with Alejandro in April 2010. The Monster Ball ran into the start of the Born This Way era which kicked off the month it ended (and as we know the last few dates of the tour had her performing BTW and even previewing Judas via tape). So like she's never done long album eras. Just took shorter breaks. The gays know how to party
