nightcall is such a great and famous song. Even Billie Eilish lately wanted to sing it so bad but they had that Angel gurl for the lead. 

And i thought it was a very clever interpolation. I instantly though of it. like the nose in the face i was like : brilliant omg. imagine calling someone late at night to tell him that you'd die with 'em... Omg. 

Honestly if i was in his position i would be kinda i understand his need to express himself.

Ohhhh that one message "you're lucky she's giving you a bit of exposure you ungrateful old" is soooo **** because it can't count as exposure if there isn't a credit of any of the production crew for Nightcall in earshot listed in Apple Music metadata.
And Gaga stans getting bold saying oh well he's smaller and a who so who cares, shame on you. Just because someone isn't a megastar doesn't mean their contributions to music aren't equally valid and appreciated, you can put bias aside and say Gaga made a single mistake, simple as that.
Even if it wasn't intentionally an interpolation, the Closer line of "I wanna **** you like an animal" is, she didn't write that or come up with the idea of that lyric and it isn't even listed in the Apple Music lyrics.
But even with all of that, it's not an entirely big deal. No one is gonna sue or make a problem of it other than the fact Kavinsky just expressed disappointment in having no contact about this whatsoever.

I immediately thought about Nightcall hearing this bit from Mayhem Requiem so it ain't surprising even if folks pretend it's not that close etc.

Monsters getting dismissive when it's obviously disrespectful to take an artist work without permission or credit is crazy bold... 

The only point they may have is it could have be done privately but as you said, he doesn't owe them that if they didn't ask, do their legal duties to get him his $ or even mentioned him... Like "we gonna borrow your work and pretend you don't exist". 

Now it may very well be Gaga letting her team fixing all that with them messing up here so I ain't coming for her at all. It's not her part to deal with communication, negotiations, payments and royalties lol. If I remember well she even admitted she didn't like the business part of her job and wasn't handling much of it.

I mean Gaga credited Siouxsie Sioux & the Banshees for the very very small interpretation in Abracadabra, so I don't think this one slipped through the net. 

So if he's not credited - there will likely be a legal rule that allows the label to avoid doing so. Copyright law has never been simple.
Or as is also the potential case - a deal got struck with his management/label/whoever owns publishing rights etc which covers it. 
Because it's worth pointing out - that NIN aren't credited on Killah either. And Gaga knows Reznor so she definitely wouldn't snub him.

I looked on Genius and didn't see Kavinsky's name.  Maybe they removed it? Isn't it a site that anyone can edit more or less? 

I hope he somehow is credited and will at least receive $ if he wasn't asked a permission in the first place.
