Like sure you could say she had inspiration...but she was inspired by Daft Punk in like 8 other places in this show including this bike helmet she has on. So I feel like saying it's a rip-off is a liiiiiittle much especially when the songs themselves are massively different. When people said he was credited initially, I was surprised but I thought maybe she was just exercising an abundance of caution (à la Abra and Siouxsie), but yeah, they just aren’t technically close enough where a credit is functionally necessary We have forgotten our public MANNERS

Tbf, in that instance, if Gaga had sued, Gaga would be opening herself up to the can of worms of whether or not BTW was meaningfully derivative of EY (which I’d argue it isn’t, but she’d already gone thru enough hell with that at that point). If he tried to take her to court over this, he would probably lose But it’s also not like he own this kind of synthwave sound. I’ve heard it a few times already. The vibe. Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

I mean they could say they/Gaga earns money on the deal with Apple

She mimicked the drum loop in Closer and referenced “I wanna fck you like an animal,” but that’s it as far as I can tell True; but I think there’s about as much of a resemblance in Abra and Spellbound and they were credited. Kayioshka 3,091
As if he couldn’t communicate it in private with Gaga's team... He just wanted to get some attention but I won’t stream his song anyway. In my peace era. 3

I understand your point, but like he says: bare minimum is to give creds, either actual credits, money and/or at least letting them know the song sounds similar

In the case of Adele against Toninho Geraes, Angra's guitarist was hired by Toninho's team to analize both songs. I saw a video that he explained he had to write a visual chart using symbols and colors in a way that the court would understand the technical stuff of theory, to compare the harmonies, melodies, prosody of the lyrics, pauses, etc. He said that when put side by side, they looked like a mirror of each other, and the case is still ongoing.
