The Prince parts felt a little wrong to me whereas this industrial Earthling era Bowie with some Devo is a great fit for her. First, I’m so glad she’s finally given us a live album! I’ve been begging for one for ages so that was a plus. I’ve also been begging her to get experimental with her live tracks which is exactly what she did here. However, this is the rare occasion where I felt like Mayhem was the perfect studio album and didn’t need any changes/remixes. These versions weren’t bad but definitely not better than the studio album. I wish she would’ve released it later in the year to allow more refining and a wider theatrical release. as a final note, I really wish physical CDs were more of a thing. I shouldn’t have to subscribe to apple then buy a pair of 150 headphones to hear the true quality.
