A Turkish maritime law center  detailed a bill that would write Ankara’s claims in the Aegean, the eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea into domestic legislation while keeping territorial waters in the Aegean at six nautical miles and giving the president power to declare special-status maritime zones.

The draft was presented at a news conference organized by Ankara University’s National Center for Sea and Maritime Law (DEHUKAM), where DEHUKAM officials described it as a framework law covering Turkey’s internal waters, territorial waters, contiguous zone, continental shelf and exclusive economic zone.

The meeting marked the first public presentation of the legislation, following a Bloomberg report last week that Ankara was preparing a bill to put its maritime claims into domestic law, a move that would add a formal legal layer to long-running disputes with Greece and Cyprus over maritime boundaries and offshore energy resources.

Girl she'd bomb isra*l we don't need that energy :poot:

But yeah nothing will come out of this and this is only done for internal politics - as it is the case with any agression between Greece and Turkey

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

Nah she would just tweet polemical posts as usual. And she would then quickly regret it and apologize... Like I cannot understand this mentality. She's an icon but she should delete Twitter.

Politicians are obsoletes, we should just pick celebs we like it’s the same thing.

Put Tarkan instead. He's our non-problematic king.

As a mixture of Armenian, Greek and Zaza (Iranic ppl near to Kurds) ppl... Separatists are troublemakers more than they appear to be.

Erdogan is a scummy but I highly doubt that he could manage to steal lands of Greeks. It’s all about proving how important is his hard power.

But the fact that there are muktiple ethnicities in Turkey is normal for a land with a very long history. None of the Turks and Kurds are native of these lands tho. The Zaza ethnicity of mine is oftenly associated to a mix between the ppl of Khorassan and hypothetically the Medes. The Medes were an Iranic population which fought against the Greeks in order to gain their lands. It’s not like there weren’t already trouble before the Turks arrived.

Almost every countries have populations with different ethnical and cultural background. These three cultures that you named influenced the modern Turkey. And they are pretty similar since the areas of cultural proximity create links between populations. Turks are not a seperate group from them. Some are Turkic but some are assimilated Turks.

The way USA pays the weapons to help Kurdish separatists is just disgusting. I mean, everyone can practicize their culture and beliefs. There are no situation of autodetermination. Many Kurds have a good job, a good life and they live in peace with Turks. When Kurds do operations in order to get a part of the land, it’s plain terrorism. In villages they ruin the life in community by convincing young ppl to join their forces. To me it’s sad because instead creating elites, studying, living a good life they are forced to serve a hopeless and old cause. It’s narrow minded old men who push this separatism.

My family from Turkey do the halay, play Alevi chants and speak Zazaki without having trouble... They claim their local cultural heritage and their national Turkish identity. And since my brothers and I live in France, we claim being Turkish. We consume the Turkish pop culture and news to remember our land. Honestly, it would be long If I had to say "Hey I'm Armenian, Greek and Zaza". I speak Turkish and identify myself to a Turk.

I mean even in pop culture you have several people being openly Armenian, Kurdish, Zaza, Greek... Yildiz Tilbe is Zaza and Kurdish, and yet she is very popular figure in the country.

I’m not sure what any of this has to do with my comment. I never said there weren’t other ethnicities living in Turkey or that there aren’t people who aren’t Turkish that have been assimilated and identify as Turkish.

Turkey though, particularly towards Greek people, has historically and continually tried to erase them from Asia Minor despite them being the indigenous population of that area. The Greek genocide, the violation of the treaty of Lausanne with what happened to Imbros, the Istanbul pogrom, converting Hagia Sophia into a mosque, were all intentional moves to decimate any Greek presence.

And now they claim that Greece is in violation for militarising its islands when that’s only happening because of continuous Turkish threats to take them.

It’s crazy to me that there are Turkish ppl I see who genuinely believe turkey got the short end of the stick after WW1 and claim how the islands are theirs or they want all of Thrace etc when it was Greece and Armenia that lost native lands and had genocides against them.

In a perfect world, after WW1, there should have been an independent Turkey, a bigger Greece with Thrace and Izmir, a bigger Armenia and an independent Kurdistan. All centred around local ethnic, cultural and linguistic populations.

In a perfect world, after WW1, there should have been an independent Turkey, a bigger Greece with Thrace and Izmir, a bigger Armenia and an independent Kurdistan. All centred around local ethnic, cultural and linguistic populations.

In a Kurdistan, my family which is Alevi, would have been massacred by the Sunnis Kurds. They were originally persecuted because they were Christian Armenians. And when they became Alevi muslims there were still massacres perpetuated by narrow minded Sunnis. Mostly Kurds. It’s because Turkey is now a secular country that we can live in peace together.

Kurds helped actively Ottomans to decimate Armenians. Some Kurdish elites collaborated with the Ottomans and have lead tribes to kill Armenians. Because they were just greedy Kurdish and Turkish elites.

It’s always driven by the elites. We need pragmatic and utilitarian minds. Things are how they are now. It doesn’t mean that we should cry because the Zazaki disappear. My own ancestors language is none of my interests since the dynamics are moving. How many cultures disappeared ? Are the descendants of Hittites from Efyon care about the disappearance of their culture ? Not many. The only thing that matter, is the survival of the individuals and their expansion. (That’s why I need to find a way to not get my future job stolen by Ai first)

But since Kurds haven’t receveid the lands they wanted, there are now a whole lobby doing terrorist attacks, financed by American government (again an external parasite). These people cause prejudice to Kurdish people who simply want to live their lives normally.

The PR image of the PKK/YPG lobbies depict them as the enemies of Islamists... But please, I heard stories about some families taking part in the PKK operations. they are nothing open minded as my family. If I can talk on a gay forum it’s mostly because it’s none of my preoccupation to care about war or being obediant to a strong dogmatism. I highly doubt that Kurdistan would be secular.

The treaty of Lausanne was shi... both Turks, Armenians, Kurds and Greeks suffered from retrictions imposed by external authorities. Is it normal that it’s always the peasants and normal civilians that tear up each others, instead of the elites ? Before that, they lived for years together with their cultures. The Anatolian Armenian and Greek peasants were mostly cultivating the fertile fields. They were the craftmen...

The Ottomans were no angel toward the other people outside of their empire. They had a whole slave trade of Black and Balkanese people. It’s very dirty but it’s factual. Same as the way Selim I made massacres of Turkmen and Iranic Alevis of Anatolia. Because he was afraid of the brotherhoods and secret societies coming straight from Iran... The Iran was Shia Muslim. The sultan represented the Muslim Sunni authority, that’s why he executed a repression on Muslims sects other than the Sunnis. I can contextualise without feeling passionate about something predictable about the power.

But Anatolians had no problems with the royal authority. That’s why it felt like a very ugly betrayal, when there were violent repressions of their own people. There were intra-rivalries sometimes, like between the Christians and Muslims... But there were litteraly representatives to keep them chill. Otherwise a part of the empire become unstable and that was none of the sultan’s desires.

It’s really at the fall of the Ottoman empire that what we remembered was the worst.

Most of the Turks living in Anatolia are just Anatolians. Some have Turkic roots. But they aren’t a majority. Modern Turks just took another nationality. Even Atatürk was Greek.

I feel like a secular country was the best deal for everyone after all the repressions that happened. That’s how the people of Anatolia became more unified.

Erdo doesn’t represent all the Turks, he's an Islamist pos and a dictator. But the country would exploit it’s geographical borders and respect other people, if the people were less obediant and more unified against him.
