Beyoncé is so overrrated, her voice control doesn't replace how monotonous her voice is.

Beyonce is a great lip syncer. She mastered the craft of pretending to the perfection. She doesn't even bother to "sing over a pre-recorded track" as she called it when the anthem drama was happening. I heard her singing 100% live and it's not that impressive

I think Freddie is very good ofc but idk if I’d put him above Aretha or Ella Fitzgerald that’s just my opinion

I wouldn’t even put him higher than Bowie, tbh. Freddie’s got an iconic voice, but it’s a touch one note.

Showing your whole ass on the Bowie comment lmao. David Bowie is literally a phenomenal singer. Technically virtuosic, excellent and eclectic tone, adapted his voice to so many styles and genres over the years, a master of mood, ambiance, and attitude. Too low on the list if you ask me.

Kate vs. Celine is trickier in the sense that what they do is completely different, but there’s no denying Kate’s tone, vocal range, and emotional and expressive range are top tier. I personally prefer her as an artist and a singer, but there’s no doubt that Celine is an absolute powerhouse and wouldn’t’ve been mad to see Celine higher than her.

No David’s voice is so monotone to me .

I mean, that just tells me you haven’t heard much of his music. Dude has an insane dynamic range, expressive, and emotional range.

I’m not arguing the merits of Deborah Cox, Toni Braxton, or Chaka (who are all great), but scoffing at the idea of Bowie being on the list is wild to me.

Nah .  The 3 girls I mentioned have voices sent from heaven.  Powerhouse vocalists . Beautiful TONE.  David has no tone to me :(

Again, I explicitly stated I wasn’t arguing against the women you listed.

Genuinely think if you can listen to any of these and say “this man has no ‘tone’” (which as a classically trained singer, I honestly barely know what you mean by that), I have no idea what to tell you:
