This video really emphasises how important visuals can be in transforming Gaga's audio worlds! I felt like I had been transported into a colourful, camp-tastic dimension of over-the-top fashion and fun. While this is absolutely not my favourite song Gaga's released... it's certainly been elevated, and has thankfully morphed into something better, by this video! In Parris, we trust.

Gaga has such a deep wealth of visual iconography to pull from and reference too, which makes things like the piss-coloured wig or the teapot look feel like fun callbacks. This video was the ideal place to incorporate those elements and cement her legacy as a fashion icon. What other 40-year-old pop diva could writhe around in a bedazzled gimp suit on a conveyor belt runway?! 

Part of me refuses to give up the dark MAYHEM aesthetics, but with Requiem on the horizon, I guess the time has come to say goodbye... I'm going to throw myself on top of MAYHEM's coffin - Leland Palmer style - and be pulled down into the ground with it!
