Better Album: Rated R vs Beyonce

This is tough….

Rated R used to be on repeat. It was one of my very first physical albums I ever had when I was a teenager, and I had the remix album too. 
I love Beyoncé, but some of the tracks go on for too long, and others are just skips. I can play Rated R top to bottom over and over with no issue. 
I also think Rated R’s singles had more of a cultural moment than Beyoncé did with the GP. The random drop was iconic, but the songs themselves didn’t stick like Rated R’s singles did.

Rated R just has a few good songs imo and the rest didn’t age as well. Whereas Beyoncé’s self titled was a reset for her and a cultural reset for albums, ie visual album with focus given to each song. If you compare LOUD or Anti to Beyoncé self titled then it might be a more interesting debate.

Rated R is less cohesive as a body if work, but it has better music imo

Usually I prefer Rihanna but with those two albums I have to say Beyonce

The music’s just not good, gosh. Even the singles sound bad…

See, ANTI is the only album of Rihanna’s that I think is worth any salt on the whole. She’s generally a singles artist, imo, but even as a singles artist I think she’s pretty overhyped.
