It’s about, even in a pop scenario, the kind of authority they maintain and the kind of behavior they practice within the scene, which points toward something fascistic. Bless Madonna's heart for doing so many good things. Yes, Taylor has not done enough, but both of them do have a pattern.

I get what you were meaning with the title and that is how I've interpereted it. 

I just don't think you can describe someone's impact & role within the pop world as fascistic if they have a well established of anti-authoritarianism. 
Like outside of Madonna's fued with Gaga, she's not realistically been a gate keeper - she actively worked with the first wave of main pop girl contenders after her (Britney & Xtina) and has returned to it with Sabrina. Gaga was an outlier behaviour wise.
Just a messy bitch with her age cohort. Like Elton, Courtney Love & Cher lol and she's never really used her music/stages to go after them. Just the usual snarky commments in interviews (that infamous one with Courtney Love crashing an interview is iconic). 

Meanwhile Taylor's legitimately made her feuds a monetary vehicle for herself, motivating fans or going through the legal route etc against threats & ex-boyfriends. 

I personally, just don't think they're comparable.

say what you want about Madonna and sure she's no saint and sometimes severely out of touch and bratty - but she became the biggest popstar on the planet by being extremely divisive and provocative. Taylor's most provocative act is dating famous men (and no that doesn't mean I'm equating her success to men).

edit cuz I'm lowkey fuming at this comparison: I know most Gaga fans are Madonna fans too - though she was a major cvnt to Gaga but still my god the disrespect this woman faces on online pop music forums is getting on my nerves. I hope people learn to appreciate her before she's gone.
