This is me yapping cause I would really like for that collab to be real lol I really do think a collaboration between Gaga and Madonna needs to happen - after everything they have both done and been through it be incredible to team up together. When I see sabrina I think that should have been Gaga up there with Madonna! https://open.spotify.com/track/7q1GGm2mBlC9hPWige0C6e?si=6b5319d0e3b44fa6
RAMROD 114,929
There will never second of anyone. Every artists are different. People just like to lump them together because it's easy. One artist is usually older and viewed as setting the bar, and another usually newer, younger act. Especially when they're share the same genres and audience. We heard more about the girls here, because most people here mostly exclusively enjoy pop divas. But it also happened with bands and male solo acts. There are countless male singer who always compared as the next beatles, metallica, elvis, prince, or michael jackson, just to name some examples. I don't want to piss Madonna fans, but please don't hate me for my opinion. Gaga's had many collabs recently and at this point I'd rather have Gaga solo than a collab for the collab's sake. I know many revere Madonna for countless reasons (I respect some of them) but musically my ears and heart don't get any emotions when I hear Madonna's music. I do like some songs, especially the older stuff, but it's too little for me to believe in this collab to mean something for the nowadays' music, especially given Madonna's latest music in about 20 years. I want Gaga to be challenged vocally, musically, artistically. In my mind, Madonna wouldn't do that. If the collab happens, I hope they prove me wrong, I doubt they will. Killa 18,398
Madonna Is Absolutely Amazing. I only really understood this few years ago. How can Someone still work at her level in a solo career? And thats Sabrina duet seems like lowkey a moderate hit. Sometimes the formula Is very simple, the Melody and words are limited but It works so well. Her and Gaga have so Little in common. And the limited range really can work well tò Madonna in finding other ways tò create music. Comparing both Is useless. There Is no madge but After all, they are all unique.
TheMontebello 935
Everyone is their own person. Of course Madonna is Madonna and Lady Gaga is Lady Gaga. There's not even gonna be a second Katy Perry (thank God) You like the fat girl I got in me 🍕
monstertoronto 11,127
Madonna blazed the trail and set the template for the modern MPG. She broke down so many barriers for female performers and she’s been an incredible ally for the LGBT when it was not something you got clout for. She has written some of the most iconic music in pop and has mastered and pioneered the art of reinvention so many times. From having an explosive debut album and then three unbelievable increasingly successful eras with Like a Virgin, True Blue, and Like a Prayer, and then having massive comeback eras not once but twice with Confessions and Ray of Light decades later, I really don’t think anyone will match her career arc or impact again. Gaga is a stronger singer and a different artist entirely. Shes also incredible and singular in her own way. I love them both. RochesterJoannster 3,890
Agreed. Madonna is one of a kind. Case closed. I will say, Gaga especially does not need to be the second Madonna. Gaga’s talent is superior, regardless of Madonna’s impact. Gaga’s own impact is very unique as well.
Anderson123 41,401
Yes, just like Michael Jackson, Bowie, Elvis, Freddie Mercury, etc. this “the next X” or “the second X” has been so exhausting to discuss because it’s used by the media to trigger fanbases or just create some activity online. Ever since Gaga debuted they’ve had every opportunity to call her that and people should know by now that she has made an impact in pop culture by her own name. No one is trying to take Madonna’s “throne” because really it’s very exhausting to see all of these discussions by stans. Pop queens are truly the sports of the gays. JoeCool 691
Madonna I look at as a goddess because of the age difference between me and Gaga a lovely person and artist. Not saying they are both perfect but I like them both in their own ways I still always think of Kenan Thompson with these comparison threads. He was the ultimate winner here!
