It kinda baffles me that way more Gaga fans aren't showing up for her, so here are some great performances from her Coachella set

while I'm screeching, Cobrah deserves more love too

The music ain’t good enough for me to look passed her having had an entire account solely to make racist tweets about Normani and Fifth Harmony when she was 16. Like yeah she apologized when it came to light - but 16 is old enough to know racism is wrong and it definitely changed my view of her extremely

To be completely honest‚ part of Fifth Harmony had accounts to make racist remarks as well. :poot: :selena:

Well to be fair, I pay the members of Fifth Harmony even less attention. It really is just about the racism rather than it being Fifth Harmony adjacent

And Gaga used to use the r-slur, especially in interviews, and she's never even addressed it. Let's not enforce Tumblr dynamics.

While I don't think slayyyter should be held to what she said as an edgy teenager (even though 16 is kind of pushing that boundary)... I honestly don't know many people who weren't saying the R slur back then.

it just wasn't really seen as derogatory unless it was used toward people with disabilities (we obviously know better now) so let's not act like those two situations are the same lol

at what point does their comment even imply that?

the user was just saying how common place the word was 20 years ago and they're right, it's just a fact

nobody cared about how harmful the word was back then

mother, what must i do?

At the point that they said one issue is worth pursuing and dismissing an artist and another is just what everyone said back then, just like you're doing.

I only said that to point out how hypocritical it is to highlight one thing and then make up excuses for why another doesn't matter. If you're going to have standards, have standards. Don't be like WELL IT WAS OKAY BACK THEN and act like that suddenly changes anything just because you're on the favorable side

So she should be in jail or khia asylum for whole her life cause she said something 13 years ago? Walk out and touch some grass please. Sometimes I wonder how people like you function on a daily basis. It can be very tiring.

The performance itself was great. I've already seen it go viral on X and TikTok. I hope Coachella helps her break through a bit.

how is it hypocritical? I simply pointed out that the R-slur was unfortunately considered socially acceptable, racist slurs however... were not.

They are two different contexts, everyone knew racism was not OK then. I also didn't condemn Slayyyter because I do understand she was a teenager and they do stupid sh*t to be edgy sometimes.

because that's just the truth of the world girl, nobody cared back then  that was all their comment said

at no point have i or the other user agreed or implied ableism is ok, gaga is wrong for doing it, slayyyter is wrong for being racist but, factually, more people were aware about racist language than ableist language 2 decades ago

that's just a fact, you can't get mad at a fact lol
