I'll change my mind if it takes off and she decides to slap it on Mayhem too :diane:

Instead of lg8 she just releases singles for the next few years and slaps them on Mayhem. Mayhem will never be over:huntyga:

Exactly, people who think like that are dumb. And that's why ARTPOP is so good and overhated by dumb people.

I was describing how you think, sister

As Miranda might put it, RUNWAY is hardly "groundbreaking", but it's a solid bop and fun to listen to. I've been listening to it for a bit, although it's not really grabbing me quite the way that Disease and Abracadabra did. I'd say it might be slightly on the over-produced side, but the beat is fun as are the lyrics and Gaga and Doechii work well together, as you'd hope in a colab.

I think where perhaps the "gripes" are coming from is that this is not her usual musical territory. Fans are used to her commanding space in a genre, and this is her venturing into someone else's house where she is a student rather than a master.

And it's a song to support a film, not an entire era. I think people are entitled to say this isn't exactly what they would expect or want from her, but it's a between album cycles release and people need to wind their neck in a bit. It belongs more in the category that Hold My Hand, The Cure and Stache do. I don't think that even a small EP changes that much.

What people have said about her not standing out on the song or her vocals blending with Doechii's reminds me of how I have felt about most of her recent collab's. Most of the time it feels like she is trying to blend into her collaborators style instead being herself or bringing her own thing. I first really felt this way about Rain On Me(which I liked quite a bit when it came out) and that Ariana really stood out there but not Gaga and same with Sine From Above and DWAS, which is very Bruno. Also Sour Candy sounds very much like a K-pop song so it suits BLACKPINK quite well but Gaga doesn't necessarily stand out. That is a bit of a double edged sword though because yes the 2 usually blend together decently because Gaga is accumulating herself to their style but it doesn't always give her a moment to properly shine.

Also as for this being not in Gaga's ballpark musically I completely disagree, there's a reason people started comparing it to BJ AF and Donatella, she has definitely made that kind of music before I even thought of Fashion from the COASH soundtrack.

Well I dont think like that, sure I prefer her music from 2008-13 but there's songs I like after that. There's quite a few songs on C2C that are heavenly to listen to and I like 911, Alice, Replay, Enigma, GOE, Lovedrug and Disease. I was very mad when Disease flopped cause it was really good and I wish she would make more music in that area.

And it's funny cause it's not even my fav album of hers and I think J&D and Fashion! aren't that good(don't really dislike them though and Fashions bridge is divine). I have just seen way too much hatred towards it over the years and I don't get it, it's a great album with diverse and experimental sounds, fun campy and personal lyrics and amazing vocals(some real career highlights are on it). I mean how someone can hate an album with Applause, Gypsy, Aura, G.U.Y, ARTPOP, MANiCURE, Swine (especially Swine) and Venus is beyond me.

It’s literally the most fun song she’s done in like 13 years so I’m happy. She’s been very serious ever since she got a taste of being a “flop” (and I use that word loosely) during ARTPOP so I’m glad she’s at a place where she can give us sugary sweet fun music again for no reason. I’ve noticed a decrease in pop girls making c*nt songs so I’m happy Gaga still does.

Not every song has to be deep or metaphorical y’all
