I skimmed thru the album, monolith and garbage seemed pretty good but I’m not sure about the rest. This album is too dark for me idk. While I think the issues and ideas she’s writing about are real, and problematic, this is just not what I prefer to listen to on a day to day basis. Some of the lyrics I have read really made me feel anxiety/impending doom.

a lot of the things she’s addressing in these lyrics also feel hypocritical. I’m tired of pop stars making tracks about capitalism, and patriarchy while they are the ones directly benefiting from the systems or also part of the problems themselves. She’s signed to a label that’s owned by a white man, making money for him while saying in her music  “i won’t make money for you” and talking about how greed and money have a chokehold on humanity while she is releasing overpriced perfumes made of plastic and ripping off her fans with poor quality merchandise that she puts her likeness on.

I’ve been a supporter of her music for a really long time, and love her earlier work but this releasing is just giving me egotistical out of touch superstar vibes.

The lows are pretty low and the highs are incredible as per usual with her for me. Kinda what I expected but more lows than highs in this project. Interested in the sequel album apparently coming this year

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

Some of the beats are sick, the album did not have to be 18 tracks long honestly.

Possession and Avoidant are the only two songs I like so far :bear:

But Avoidant is great :bradley:

10 more tracks to listen to though.

Uh oh… You guys are scaring me ! I haven’t been able to listen to the album yet but the singles and snippets didn’t really convince me so I’m a bit apprehensive…

The Plague, The Vatican, Hell’s front porch stuck on me the most.

Then I accidentally adore Possession and Disney Princess.

LG8 out Friday May 15th

Wow wow wow. On my way to work this morning I got half way through the album (stopped on Weight Watchers). I am LOVING it so far tho. I love how when I listen to her albums, I get an experience. Really love it so far :cryga:

Also, not usually a fan of her ballads, but both Avoidant and Monolith were great!

If it makes you feel any better, most times artists have no control over their merch. The rights are given to labels when they sign their record deal.

This album definitely isn’t going to be for everyone. It’s very dark, dystopian and a brutally honest reflection of the state of the country and humanity as a whole.

Faves: White Boy with a Gun, Monopoly Man, Batshit Intelligence (my fave), Uncanny Valley,  The Vatican.

Least fave: Monolith, Avoidant, Chatroom (least favorite).
