LGAte 673
What’s crazy for me is if remakes happened in the 2000s…it was usually some film from like the 1950s-1970s. Like there was almost two maybe even three generations passed. This is like them remaking Harry Potter or I Know What You Did Last Summer or Gossip Girl. I usually don’t buy into internet wars but I think there is a pretty substantial argument that Gen Z is incredibly lost and cannot find anything of their own. They swing toooooo much hate at millennials when all the evidence shows is that they are obsessed with millennial culture. I even was talking to a twink at a gay bar this past weekend who swore that brat summer was more culturally dominant than the era of pop music from 2008-2012 (which is hilarious to me). And I genuinely thought…”maybe I am just being the 30-year old gay guy that won’t let go of his youth”….. but then it dawned on me that brat summer happened because of Charli XCX….who is a millennial. Isn’t it mostly millennial aged people making these decisions, though? Gen Z are, at most, 29. Millennials are the ones more likely in higher up positions and calling these shots, unfortunately WE are the ones not able to let go of our childhoods
