LOVEDRUG 11,259
If Chappell actually didn't want all of the attention and scrutiny that comes with fame, she could easily avoid it. Just look at someone like Kate Bush, Enya or Mylène Farmer. They do their own thing and generally don't get bothered. Even Taylor Swift, one of the most famous women in the world, doesn't get seen when she doesn't want to be. I think Chappell rubs people the wrong way because she walks red carpets and attends award shows, events literally designed to attract attention (and behaves extremely provocatively when doing it), then gets mad when people pay attention. If you walk the Grammy's red carpet with a dress hanging from your nipples, people are going to recognise you in public. It's not great, but it's just the reality of the situation. 4th Time Around 5,059
Why is it that 90% of the time a Chappell Roan headline goes viral it's because she's being a hypocrite or a straight up ****? The girl isn't cut out for mainstream stardom and needs to get a better PR team asap. For someone who "sincerely doesn't care" about this as you said, you keep taking swings over it... each of them wider & more haphazard... I never said LG made perfect career choices. In fact... you are the one who is now trying to whip up a retroactive hate campaign around her, it seems? lmao 12 minutes ago, BrandyFinest said: Men DO get away with worse stuff on the daily though? In what world would a man get more hate for things that women do, because I'd want to live in that world. Yeah, men are awful & women are awful... 🤷🏽♂️ We're talking about Chappell Roan right now. You posited that much of this backlash was fueled by her being a gay woman. I said if a male celeb was on the same bullshit as her, he would also be called out (especially in today's chronically-online climate). Imagine a Timothee Chalamet-type behaving like her. Don't you think that would invoke similar, if not more intense, disapproval? 3

REALITY 80,162
Y’all will never make me dislike her I kinda love that she has a “no f*cks to give” attitude and that she doesn’t placate to what people say just cause she’s a celebrity. She has boundaries and she isn’t afraid to let people know that, which only comes across as combative or aggressive because we expect celebrities to behave a certain way that caters to *our* demands or needs over theirs. As for this situation, yeah, it sucks, but also, why are y'all blaming Chappell for something her security guard did? If she, herself, went off on this 11-year-old, that’s a different story. Did the guard overreact to someone who obviously was not a threat or harassing her? Yeah. But you can’t blame her specifically for something she literally did not do. Y’all want pop divas, but can never handle them! Like, compared to the sh*t pop stars and artists did back in the day...? The stuff Chappell does is truly not that awful. I'm generally not a "people are too sensitive nowadays" person, but I genuinely don't understand why she gets the reaction she gets from many people here. Honestly embarrassing and grandiose. I remember when Alanis Morissette walked past my table when I was 13 I was sooooo happy down. She giggeld and smiled. She was also huge back then fyi folks. Even GAGA wouldnt do this. Free Palestine 🍉
Pigatha 1,336
At first I was defending her, but it's getting ridiculous lmao. Like when she went to that restaurant that always has paparazzi and fans out front waiting for celebs and instead of walking past them like everyone else she STANDS there and starts filming lmao 5 1

But you're using Gaga as a reference point as to why Chappell is "an outright d1ckhead" when Gaga is also an "outright d1ckhead", a worse one in fact if you wanna be consistent. I love Gaga so idk what you mean by "Haphazard" when I'm saying an artist that I love has done bad things, thats called being honest and aware of who you admire:) 3 minutes ago, NUTELLA said: Yeah, men are awful & women are awful... 🤷🏽♂️ This Mens rights activist talking point lol. 7 minutes ago, NUTELLA said: I said if a male celeb was on the same bullshit as her, he would also be called out Except they don't. Like, do you think misogyny doesn't exist? That there isn't a difference in response to women and men in the public eye, and that women often get treated worse while men who do the same things get treated far better, and in some cases, aren't even punished. 4 minutes ago, NUTELLA said: Imagine a Timothee Chalamet-type behaving like her.
