Celina 118
Aww :( I'm glad she was the bigger person, but I feel so bad for her. The judgement people get over relationships in general is so sickening to me, even if it's not necessarily "hate" or a celebrity couple. Even a simple "he/she could do so much better" makes me so angry, and it's so shallow too since it's usually based on physical appearance. Like, who do you think you are? What if the people you're talking about read that? They clearly make each other happy so stfu Edited January 3, 2014 by Cellie

Smooth Criminal 2
Selena Gomez takes over the March issue of Seventeen magazine  posing for three different covers. The “Slow Down†diva rocks a different colored t-shirt for each cover emblazoned with words like “dreamâ€, “brave†and “confidentâ€. As usual, Sel is pushing a feel-good message and manages to look absolutely adorable in the process. As for the cover story, the 21-year-old opens up about female pop stars and her inferiority complex. Selena expresses her support for Lorde, who had some unkind things to say about “Come & Get Itâ€, saying: “I’m going to support her whether she likes me or not because I think she’s doing great things.†Sel also remains hopeful that their feud will end. “Someday I will see her and we’ll be cool.†Her relationship with Katy Perry is much less dramatic. In fact, she turns to the prismatic superstar for love advice. “I actually talked to [her] about guys who are intimidated by strong girls,†she explains. “I haven’t found someone yet who could understand my lifestyle, support it, love me through it, and not be threatened by it.†I guess this interview was conducted prior to her reunion with Justin Bieber? Perhaps the most confronting moment is when Selena reveals that she felt “defeated†and “like an underdog†when compared to fellow Disney divas like Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. “Even though my show was picked up, it seemed like I was putting in so much work and seeing no results,†she admits. “I questioned the way I looked, acted, sang, and wrote.†What do you make of Selena’s revelations? Let us know in the comments below. I think it's great Selena feels this way and I hope they meet one day & hug it out! :) http://www.idolator.com/7501886/selena-gomez-seventeen-magazine-covers-lorde-katy-perry
Helix 1,437
I read that earlier, it's so amazing of Selena to be like that <3 I really hope this doesn't turn into a ShadeLorde Thread.
PoshLife 16,906
This is really interesting. I have to admit I think she came off as a bit... I don't want to use the word 'b---hy' to describe a woman. but I'm struggling to come up with a worthy substitute, but I was turned off by her, and this interview is a welcome change. I'm still a bit disappointed in Lorde for spending so much time criticizing so many of her fellow female artists a few months ago, but it seems like she's turned over a new leaf, and I'm very happy for her for that. She's not spending her time criticizing fellow artists just for the sake of it. She's getting asked questions by reporters and she speaks her mind like any 17 year old. And it's not like shes super mean and b---hy. Sometimes people even twist her words. I think it's refreshing that someone actually says what they think instead of going "omg yeah shes great i love her" in every single question. But i dont know Edited January 18, 2014 by Cupid
ryhanna 3,507
Lorde never said she didn't like Selena. I suppose it's nice that Selena is willing to be the bigger person (in a feud that doesn't really exist).

But i dont know The media go far out of their way to try to create controversy between female artists in a way they don't between male artists. Women need to stick together in a world where people are constantly trying to pit them against one another. Look at Gaga making up with the Osborne ladies and saying nice things about Christina, Miley, Katy, etc. Lorde was basically falling into the trap, and she seems to have learned better, and I'm happy about that. She herself admitted she was spending too much time talking about other people and that it was gauche. I'm not going to go digging for the thread, but it was on here a few months ago. tristessa 0
Why does it seem like being self-deprecating is becoming a trend when it comes to pop girls and all these faux-"rivalries". It seems like they're always trying to peg one or the other as the "underdog", it gets on my nerves a little. Eh, but I guess it's just me. I think it's good she's being nice and not saying something uncalled for or shady. I don't really know what to say on Lorde's comment, it didn't seem like an attack on Selena but I can understand if it bothered her.
