Yawn. I hate these kind of reunions where they just… talk about the show and it’s impact (like the FRIENDS one), just make a one off episode for like Thanksgiving or something.

Like I get it’s easier to do a days worth of shooting for a reunion but like just take the time qnd spend a few days/a week doing a one off episode. They could’ve done a High School Reunion or a Thanksgiving where they come back together.

A season focusing on Hannah being a full grown female popstar trying to have a resurgence almost 20 years into her career would’ve made a good premise for a revival season. Very “The Comeback” but Disney comedy.

But then again idk why I’m surprised by these televised cast meet-up style reunions. Execs are scared they can’t recapture the magic because nostalgia bait revivals has sort of proved a failure now it’s passed its prime (its prime being the mid 2010s). The LM revival got canned because Hilary wanted it to not be a rehash and nostalgia bait and actually show Lizzie as a mom and grown woman with a teenage daughter, Raven’s Home fell apart because half the cast didn’t wanna come back and they couldn’t recapture the magic. The Wizards didnt work because Selena was making OMITB yearly instead and she was just a macguffin in the plot

Yeah it’s just her mom, the fact they went through all the effort to remake the set for the house, her bedroom, the stage from the OG performance segments but not use it to like film an episode at least is sad af

tragic. well, at least we got a 2026 version of the hannah tracks. Although im not sure im loving the way they vocally produced it

They could possibly still do that idk, but for the studio it's cheaper to do just a reunion thing.

Although disney still hasn't figured out how to properly do a sequel to a Disney show, like the wizards revival instead of being more mature for the original fans it's just a rehash catered to gen alpha that didn't even grow up with the show, so it's probably a good thing they don't. 

It's why the "adult" Lizzie McGuire reboot failed, Disney doesn't want to mature their shows for the original viewers.

Regardless, I'm glad to get Hannah back in some capacity.

Which is weird when you think about it because sitcoms of the 90s/2000s notoriously tackled real world issues, like TSR having an episode about racism for example. 
 

As an X-Men fan for example, ‘97 didnt shy away from being more mature even though it’s animated. I’m thankful Disney didn't gut the show (granted it’s a Fox property originally). Although dont hold me to that since they fired the show runner who was a massive true x-men fan for someone who only knew the x-men from the movies originally
