The crutch of acting like we’re going to look back at a local nightclub level performance (that is for some reason happening at Argentina’s Lollapalooza) as if it’s somehow the birth of a pop icon is insane cope. Addison is mid and it’s okay if you like it, you just don’t need to drag Britney down to justify enjoying whatever she’s doing up there! Addison has virtually no range and might as well lip sync given the amount of playback she uses. Again, I remember people critiquing Britney’s voice, but Addison lowkey makes her sound like Celine given that she at least has more than a single octave vocal range, has vibrato, can express emotion using her voice etc. I’m not even a Britney stan, but on every conceivable level, Britney is more talented and interesting than Addison (not to mention that the music itself is far more memorable). Like, again, it’s fine if Addison meets the mark for you, but I’m not going to lower the bar just because you have lol. She’s ambitious, I’ll give her that, but I don’t really see much potential. The album was a bit of snore and chore imo, but happy for those who celebrate.
