tlittlemonster 2,501
I recently saw this reel on social media where Russian fans were having a listening party, which included some of her new tracks. I remember Gaga being super popular in Russia but considering the current political climate, I was wondering if she's still popular over there? Did Russian radio play any of the MAYHEM singles? 4

The government in Russia is truly becoming like North Korea. The people aren't guilty of anything, but Putin is the one ruining everything. Regarding the topic, I think there are Russian Gaga fans and they even have the ability to listen to new songs via VPN. tlittlemonster 2,501
So it turns out Russian radio still play Gaga's new music (for now). Here are the positions reached by the MAYHEM singles on the airplay chart: Disease: #8 Die with a Smile: #44 Abracadabra: #1 The Dead Dance: #3 It's crazy that TDD was a bigger hit in Russia than DWAS! Also, Abracadabra was the 119th most streamed song in Russia last year. This is actually really good considering most Western streaming services (e.g. Spotify) where Gaga has stronger numbers are now banned in Russia. BrandyFinest 588
She probably had a steep decline in popularity like every other western artists probably has considering, y know, the sanctions.Β And any fandom she has over there is likely niche.Β everyone here knows that I'm not going to make life easy. Abracadabra almost cracking the top 100 most streamed songs last year while reaching #1 on the radio airplay chart shows how popular she still is over there... Dance-pop singers in countries like Russia or Serbia are still giving Eurovision hi-energy 2009-2012 music in 2025/2026- so it makes sense Gaga (the ''classic'' Gaga) still has a place within the music ecosystem there. 2
