Romania is set to approve a U.S. request to temporarily deploy fighter jets at the Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base on the Black Sea to assist military operations in the Middle East, according to people familiar with the matter. Washington intends to send a number of aircraft to Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, where larger-scale logistics operations and refueling will take place, they said, requesting anonymity due to the sensitive military nature of the issues. Everything Iran sent into Turkey was shut down so far, so it does not seem realistical, unless Iran sends drones via the Caucasus+Black Sea. At this point with the damage to Iran's military facilities the risk to Romania is less than if they had been involved since day 1. The brit bases in Cyprus & Diego Garcia + Romania etc are all on the edge of Iran's range and only reachable by the most sophisticated weaponry which is in smaller supply and harder to replace. These places are both easier for the US to supply as they are outside of combat zones and easier to defend making them better locations to strike Iran from.
