I think Chriminica is lower than Joannica

I’d say they’d be roughly on par with each other if Chromatica’s production was better, but yeah, I agree. Joanne has aged much better than Chromatica and it’s almost 10 years old!

Honestly I very much agree, but swap ARTPOP and Joanne positions. ARTPOP is so freaking bad I can't :billie:

Easily her most overrated album, tbh.

There’s a genuinely great EP in AP and I think it’s a *good* album, I just don’t really know if I love it as a body of work (and I also don’t really think calling it “ARTPOP” does the album any favors lmao)

The only song you listed that’s even top 30 Gaga is Aura. Disease and Abra alone mop all of ARTPOP and MAYHEM on the whole absolutely clears basically all of ARTPOP.

I think Joanne is growning, slowly, but growing.. the concert kind of sparked the beauty of it for me...

and 10 years later and social issues she's singing about, are still here and still relevant..

@NUTELLA I will say this thread actually did make me laugh out loud! I love when GagaDaily is humorous.

Thank You for at least making Joanne hate funny again instead of the much more boring c*nty jabs that we usually see from others!

Definitely. Which song did she play at your show??

But yeah, he songwriting, storytelling, and production are classic, imo. Chromatica’s production was dated on arrival.

Oh, you mean you don’t think it’s funny when fans trot out the “Republicanne” jokes in spite of the album being deeply anti-MAGA? :ladyhaha:

Joanne on the piano, she dedicated it to her grandmothers, and a few days later it was announced that her grandmother died 1-3 days before the show, so it made this moment even more powerful for me.

her music always played with old genres and modernized them, but Chromatica missed that point.

House music has a lot of feelings inside, it's like the sound can play with your emotions.. for example Robert Miles' Children is a track that people literally cry and dance to it.. but Chromatica couldn't achieve this at all.

Every song had so much potential and when it's about to finally reach it, the song ended.

Such a waste honestly.

is this based on vibes or pure sales or what? bc she did the super bowl during Joanne and that's bigger than the entire ARTPOP era.

I would also include ASIB, absolutely pushed her back into A+ status after Joanne

Well, that depending on what metric used for this graph. But in general, it is considered Gaga's lowest performing album as far as her main albums concerned.  Sure, it had its big moments like superbowl half time and the such fun tour, but the era more often than not...,. forgotten.

By sales, it's lowest sales overall. Merch wise it was uninspired. By impact, it had less radio friendly singles, and it was released in between her two other eras that were bigger culturally (ASIB & Chromatica). And critical wise, it was lukewarm at best, mixed at worst. Plus fans largely really dislike this pivot to western sound inspired album, making this album as niche even in her own fan base. Remember how divided the fan base were when Perfect Illusion, (one of my personal all time fave), came out? Yeah, not a good memory to look back.

Streaming wise, it is also her lowest ranking by streaming counts. strengthening its position as fans most least liked album. And this is important, because Gaga's career largely driven by her large fanbase than GP, that some other artists has, such as Whitney, Adele or Celine Dion. This just goes to show most fans really don't want to spin this album, even after years of its initial release, which is unusual since Monsters usually have shift appreciation to an album that was initially divisive, ARTPOP is the biggest example.

I rarely go back and listen to the album these days, but I look forward to hearing a song from it randomly come on here and there. In the last several years, I haven't been able to listen to the album as a full, the way I can go back and listen to albums normally
