AI will be making movies and tv shows in a few years. A lot of people in the entertainment industry are going to go jobless. The ones who survive will be the ones using AI to churn out nonstop AI content. And the scariest thing is that it’s actually going to be really good. :volantis:

Let's be real...if this was posted as a legit teaser for a movie or show...most would believe it.

I honestly no longer see the typical "AI" characteristics we used to see even a few months ago...:wtfga:

If it looks this good now, imagine how it will look in 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years from now. We're cooked as a species. :icant:

I think some in the film industry are really harping on AI being "the future" because they feel regret from back in the day where they didn't take advantage of CGI when it was still a niche tech. But obv, AI isn't anything like CGI, and it doesn't afford one the same diversity that CGI does. AI is modeled after other people's work, so the range of what it could produce  may be vast, but it won't create new aesthetic, it'll just copy what has already come before.

CGI was so revolutionary because it made into reality new techniques. A 2+ hour moving Art Gallery like Speed Racer (2008), or the wide open terrains of an entirely new planet in Avatar (2009) were made possible with CGI. These movies could have been made before CGI, sure, but with none of the fluidity or expanse of CGI.

That's why earlier AI kinda had that Netflix(y) feel with the abundance on wide shots and shallow depths of field and thats not a diss to Netflix( or maybe it is:awesome:) , but that's just what the AI was modeled after. It's the equivalent of  placing a Taxidermy of your dog/cat on top a robotic four legged machine. I mean sure, it looks like your pet, but you won't get any of the intentionality or sincereness in interactions like you would with an actual animal. That robot is an imitation.

it looks realistic but AI is still yet to make a coherent sequence of events that translates any form of plot for more than a minute, there's no way this will replace the entire film industry within years when the language of camera shots is lost

this is just men running around randomly

mother, what must i do?
