Sarah H 4,174
ARTPOP, especially the live version. I don't like 911.

Isn't the whole pre chorus section supposed to represent her mind becoming more and more anxious, but she then takes the pill which slowly brings her back into the calmer state again? That's always been my interpretation of the lyric and even the beat. I don't know how else to explain it. @Head Empty @Gorehound @Omegahedron I agree but I still think the chorus could've used some more intricate writing. I feel like she leaned in on the "keep repeating self-hating phrases", by doing exactly that as a main hook. But rhyming 'me' with 'me' and 'one' with 'one' a bunch of times is a little lackluster compared to the beautiful poetry that came before it. Don't get me wrong, I still love the track a LOT, but I have some nitpicks.
Chromanne 2,199
I like both of them almost equally and they both stand out from the rest of the album sonically. I chose 911 because I listen to it more often these days, especially the Charlie xcx remix.

The antipsychotic medication theme is brilliant, but the song is flatter than Donatella Versace's arse. That chorus is beyond anticlimactic and leads absolutely nowhere, and the ending just sounds like 'ok I'm bored of this now, next'. Not to mention the incredibly uninspired production courtesy of dear BloodClot. The robotic verses and lyrics are excellent tho. Madeon led production lol, but also i think the chorus is meant to be pretty flat bc the antipsychotics stabilize you. so the idea is the verses she's getting manic manic manic then pops her 911 and levels out but also is flattened.

BrandyFinest 327
I am super surprised that ARTPOP isn't winning in a landslide here, 911 isn't even top 4 on chromatica. ARTPOP V 911 is this Edited 11 minutes ago by BrandyFinest
