I'm not a fan of gags like I used to be, actually I'm disappointed in her business decision, still adore the music, but I'm not here to stan another Karadshian-like celebrity that out of touch of reality and Taylor-like artists that abusing the wallet of their middle class working-hard fans. And there are also some private reasons that some would understand. Anyway, I understood that I'm not welcomed here long time ago, so I'm just trying to have my last hurrah and fun and then I'm banning myself and not looking back But I'm really not to derail this thread so if anyone want to know more, DM me. Omegahedron 263
The first two verses of 911 are excellent. They capture the sort of numbed nature of a tortured medicated mind. The choruses and bridge however are just a little bit vanilla, lacklustrely delivered and disappointing. But I still enjoy it a lot as a song and the production is amazing. 911 clearly has the better video that ties in more to the themes of the lyrics. ARTPOP I think I have always found ethereal and enigmatic. Is it hollow and cynical? Or is it actually quite a clever mirror to the listener about subjective interpretation of art and pop? When does one become the other? What is the artistic process? It's frustratingly slippery to get hold of it's true meaning but you can tell there is something there just out of reach of your finger tips. I always loved the line "my heart can beat with bricks and strings". Both are good. ARTPOP is better. Gorehound 5,188
911 had the potential to be a BANGER. The antipsychotic medication theme is brilliant, but the song is flatter than Donatella Versace's arse. That chorus is beyond anticlimactic and leads absolutely nowhere, and the ending just sounds like 'ok I'm bored of this now, next'. Not to mention the incredibly uninspired production courtesy of dear BloodClot. The robotic verses and lyrics are excellent tho. ARTPOP on the other hand, while still a little bit monotonous, is a lush listen and feels poetically elegant and poignant. I'm always down for a bit of etherial pop. I remember when I first saw her performing it at the iTunes Festival I came a bit. The song hits the brief. Had it had a more interesting chorus and a bit more diversity in its production it would be perfect. A-Hee-Hee! Starmie25 21,062
I may be the only person who loves the melancholy chorus/bridge of "911" as is. Isn't the whole pre chorus section supposed to represent her mind becoming more and more anxious, but she then takes the pill which slowly brings her back into the calmer state again? That's always been my interpretation of the lyric and even the beat. I don't know how else to explain it. @Head Empty @Gorehound @Omegahedron Edited 3 hours ago by Starmie25

It's too subtle. She could've really amped up that anxious tension to a real peak, then suddenly chilled it all out into something hazy, soothing, even delirious or kinda numb. AVeryGagaHolyDick 28,871
Both good but both miss something in their production, they should’ve went a bit harder I picked ARTPOP anyway Edited 2 hours ago by AVeryGagaHolyDick
elegidadedios 3,603
I love the 911 lyrics but the transcendental melody on ARTPOP remains superior Also "a hybrid can withstand these things" will always be one of my favorite statements from her. Simple yet monumental Edited 2 hours ago by elegidadedios
DESTROY UR DISEASE 15,320
Damn this is so hard to choose from these two They both have some great lyrics, both have a nice production and a vibe that adds to the feel of the album, and both feel like something that the rest of the record revolves around But I think I'm gonna go with ARTPOP - purely because of those strings and the bridge I can smell your sickness I can...
