I still listen to it to this day, is so much fun, honest, vulnerable... Witness may be Katy's strongest album imo, but that's just in terms of sound. The sound is interesting, even if i liked the first half better than the second half. And look... it's clear that she tried, but her lyrics are not that good honestly. She tried to be honest, vulnerable, political, but her lyrics still sound to me like she's performing all of that instead of actually being sincere about it. The "message" behind Chained to the Rythm couldn't be more shallow imo. And that’s a problem i've felt with many songs in that album. They feel shallow to me. I loved Witness when it first came out, but it has gotten worse for me through the years. On the contrary, Chromatica is an album i keep going back to.
