As someone who has grown up and lived alongside people with disabilities for most of my life, this is a very real issue and a fine line to walk. She was denied agency, put in a tough spot, and although unintentionally, she was belittled as a consequence. Do I think Gaga crossed a line? Yes. Do I blame her for it? No. Most people in her position would have acted as overbearing as she did, not out of malice but genuine care. A dialogue should have happened between the two women afterwards though. It isn't fair to hold bad feelings against Gaga if Liza didn't communicate her distress, and give an opportunity for Gaga to understand and apologize. Time. I understand that this interaction might have left a negative impression, but there's so much conflicting reporting about it, it's like every article has a slightly different version. Liza is not a saint, Gaga is not a saint. Not everything doesn’t put a positive light on Gaga is a conspiracy to end her career. Honestly I feel like she’s trying to save face in her memoir cause of how out of it she came across on stage. I really hope Gaga says something about it in the near future.
