A Trump administration official said the Department of Defense disabled Mexican cartel drones that had breached U.S. airspace and that there was no threat to commercial air travel currently. They’re money driven, not nationalist war mongers. If there really was a drone, it smells like an inside job. Drug cartels gain nothing from being at war with the US, but they have MUCH to gain from a destabilized, weak Mexican government, which has been quietly cracking down on them using intelligence-based strategies. And of course, Trump and his cabal of tech bro Epstein lovers are weirdly obsessed with rare earth minerals and I wouldn’t put it past them to be using the threat of military action to coerce Mexico into basically handing them the rights. Trump must also be mad that Mexico is sending humanitarian aid to Cuba while he’s trying to starve them.
